If the server issues don't get fixed soon, this fails before even having a chance to prove itself...

Just from threads that have been updated over the last half day or so...

This game is one huge lag and bug
I get disconnected whenever I try to zone into cavern of wrath

Game is unplayable!
Huge lag after 0.10.0 patch

Is the POE infrastructure/server problem being acted on? When is the target for it to be fixed?
Failed to Connect to Instance
Constant "Unexpected Disconnection Occurred"
Infernal Lag
I get disconnected a lot!
Extreme lag and FPS issues since latest patch
Connection Issue Login/Instance (tried everything)
Unable to connect to patching server.
Unable to connect to patching server
Unable to connect to patching server
Unable to Connect to patching server

^ If go into a lot of those threads, you will not only see the TS having problems, but a lot of other people saying "same here" or something to that effect. Now what's disappointing is that as of the last update on the main page, GGG says that "Since the last crash, the server has been very stable." Well... maybe the server isn't crashing... but it sure as hell is not able to handle the amount of players it needs to handle.

There has been no word from any dev, mod or anyone connected to GGG if they acknowledge the problem in their infrastructure, whether or not they plan to fix it, and when they plan to fix it. Personally, since open beta started, I've only been able to play the game for an hour or two because of the godawful connection issues + terrible lag.

What's most disappointing is that the game is actually pretty interesting and quite an achievement considering that it's a free-to-play indie game in open beta. But people need to play it to fully appreciate it, and a lot of those who want to... can't.

To add to this is the frustration of a lot of players going "Well maybe the problem is on your end," and "Well duh, the game is still in open beta." To the former, I say just look at the amount of threads and posts on the Technical & Account Support forum, and you will see that this is not an isolated issue. Just because it doesn't happen for you, that doesn't mean that it doesn't happen for a lot of other people. And those people are just the ones willing to post about it... a lot of other people have tried the game and immediately dismissed it without even bothering to sign-up for an account on these boards to report their problem. To the latter, I say that I believe most people get that the game is in open beta... However, this should reflect on the game itself and not the infrastructure that supports it. Or at the very least, we should have the devs acknowledging that there is a problem and that they're working on a fix to accommodate everyone.

Well... I think that's all. I just wanted to air that out. It's frustrating because I want to get into the game. I think it has a lot of potential and I want others to get into it to. However, seeing a lot of people having similar issues and seeing a lot of those people give up on the game because of those issues, I can't help but feel disheartened that it seems like nothing is being done to address those issues. It doesn't even feel like those issues are being acknowledged.

I had no problems at all. Played HC, im lvl 48 and nothing stopped me.

Its obvius that with this amount of players, there will be issues for some players, cause we all have different PCs and internet connections, etc...

You should know its not always the Devs fault about this matter.

Anyways you are beeing a little premature. We played Closed Beta for some months and i can tell you that GGG patches this game very quickly. This is not D3.

seems like you need to play more and lurk the forums less, I'm about level 50 now and played pretty much all the time since OB, with eventual dump breaks
Thanks for collating these threads, but I would think this is more the case of posters creating new threads without reading the old ones, surely if some of these posters read the other threads about people having connection issues that they would post in those threads instead of creating their own.. GGG are responding, perhaps not to every single thread, but they have given us an insight to this in the Announcements section

I have had a few more disconnections & crashes than normal (though still less crashes than alpha, but a little more than beta) but as mentioned in this thread, its not all that surprising..
Just another D3 troll trying to spin a negative angle on GGG.

POE is awesome I have had no problems.
If all of us who did not have any issues on the other hand were to voice our opinion, its going to be even more than you can list in a thread. Of course the people who having problem will be more vocal and it looks like many are having problems.

Yes, there are issues going on, its not perfect. If you read their tweet update, their site got DDOS several hours ago. This malicious act is not helping GGG either.

But its beta. There bound to be some issues at the moment. However, the affected users are relatively small and it will take time to iron out the issue.
It's a BETA! Do you know what BETA means?

I had no problems whatsoever on my end, either. And I agree with that last part, though Blizzard did have their own good times... Even if a little...

...Who am I kidding?

And they kept the servers up? Damn GGG's good.

The fact that you had no problems is irrelevant. The fact that a lot of other people have problems is relevant. It may not be a majority, but the amount of people complaining on the technical board + some people I've seen complain around the internet + a few people irl who I know have given up on the game for its connection issues is significant enough to illustrate that these are not all isolated cases.

It is not always the devs' fault, but in this case, it's difficult to say that that is applicable. There is something on the server end that is lacking, causing all these people to have problems.

It's probably not a problem with the game, it's a problem with the infrastructure not being robust enough to handle all the players. Although if it is a software issue causing all the connection problems, hopefully GGG patches that.
