Unable to Connect to patching server

Hello, just wanted to download PoE n get ready for next week but after I install the "installer" I click on path of exile icon to start patching and it gives me the message: "Unable to Connect to patching server"... is the patch server down atm?

update: Turned off my Norton Antivirus & my computer is now successfully patching PoE.

I'm getting the same error - tried downloading a fresh installer and everything - AVG and Firewall both disabled... every time I run the PoE shortcut I get a message saying there was a connection problem and that it could not connect to the patching server.
