If the server issues don't get fixed soon, this fails before even having a chance to prove itself...

The lack of way points mean re running through 2 maps because you never found a waypoint to 'save' your progress get infuriating after 2 or 3 attempts. And I have read the GGG devs post where he says "it is not us, it is you" when it is blindingly obvious that it is them because lots of people (NOT ALL before you jump down my throat with "I have had no problems so you are lying") are having the same, and with THIS game only.

Yeah yeah, I know it is a beta, so stop acting like the game is perfect just because you bought one of the useless pets.
no probelms at all here yea sure i had the ocasionall lagspike here and there.

but srsly this game went open beta few days ago and GGG did with its limited funds a million times better than blizzard did on d3 launch day being backed up by a multi million stockmarket noted company. in most cases i simply believe ppl just dont know jack shit about their isp and pc and blame others for problems they have... like few minutes ago that guy in chat was ranting about lagg and how shitty this game is and blah blah blah... turns out he was playing with roughlöy 10 fps bcus his pc was not shitty but it was not "cared for" the argument "i have a i7 5000 bucks pc and 1 gibblwatzz internet connection" counts shit toward the fact that when you treat your hardware inapropriatley you will have a worse experience than someone playing on a old dual core with 1mb down and 300kb upstream

I'll be the judge of that. I want the game to be great and I want to support them, but right now, it doesn't seem worth it.

Absolutely, I WILL spend money when they offer something useful, like inventory space.

WHAT?
I cant really read the whole forums for you to find the most recent discussions, I have seen many of them before. Try using the search function to find some posts, and you can read staff posts as well

Server Announcments, these are fairly recent

Chris has gone into detail of many issues of desync and lag before, but the fact still remains that all online games have these issues, and still try to fix them so that as many people can play their game as possible

There is also this recently created dev tracker, that can help you track GGG replies

We're aware of the Australia->Singapore problems and have let our ISP know. They say they already know about it and have told the other ISPs involved (who also know about it). There was no estimate of when it'd be fixed, and there's nothing we can do about it, unfortunately. Hopefully it's soon, though, I imagine a lot of their other customers are also pretty angry.

you know not all issues are the fault of GGG. This company is the best i have seen at not ignoring the customers and if there is something they can do improve the gameplay for people from a hardware standpoint, they will do it if they can. It's been less than 3 days - stop being children and give them time to do it.

My beloved pets....
I can't enjoy myself playing PoE when every big group of enemies creates lag and does damage to me before they are even in range to begin attacking animations. It is really infuriating to try to accomodate for, and it's stressful to always be trying to predict where your enemies actually are. See, because those 5 guys shambling towards me on the other side of the screen aren't actually on the other side of the screen, but right next to me swinging their weapons and ... oops! I'm dead.

The only games I know of that are both Action/RPG's and always-online are PoE and D3, and from my personal experience the server-client relationship in these types of games should be reevaluated because it's practically ensured that not everyone will have a flawless connection to the game's servers, resulting in a less-than-ideal game experience for many, which some will have higher tolerance for than others.

I have no interest is old posts and old issues though. The latest announcement was made around 30 hours ago and it only said "Since the last crash, the server has been very stable" about the servers. That's it. Nothing has been said officially about the many recent desync/lag/connectivity issues that have been reported.

Actually, I can't recall anything being said about desync/lag/connectivity issues since open beta launch outside of the server crashes (and server crashes are a different thing altogether from lacking infrastructure).

I wouldn't call December 28 "fairly recent," sorry...

True. To be honest, the lag hasn't been a huge problem as of my most recent very brief playing sessions... but I can't say for sure if it's just my timing or if has really improved since I can't get into the friggin' game.

Ah this looks like it could be useful. Thanks.
