If the server issues don't get fixed soon, this fails before even having a chance to prove itself...

Now to reply to the people who obviously didn't care to read the OP:

POE is awesome I have had no problems.

LOL @ "D3 troll" --- I gave up on that game long ago.

I have little doubt that POE is awesome as a game. I just wish that it were playable enough for me to confirm that.

It's a BETA! Do you know what BETA means?

Yes. I mentioned that on the OP.

I think I disconnected once in 40 levels of play.

I think i had like a total of 4 lag spikes in 40 levels of play.

I think I lag less in this game than Diablo III.

I never die to lag in PoE, it has fast DC'S so if you DC you log-back in almost instantly and you find yourself alive in town instead of dead on the floor.

I can't complain I think they provide an excellent service, maybe your ISP'S just have a bad link to them.

So you're saying that because you have not experienced any problem with the game, that means that everyone who has had connectivity and lag issues have problems with their ISPs?

Wow.

I just don't think the problem is as bad as you think it is, OP. ;)

On the contrary, I think a lot of people are underestimating the amount of people affected by the connectivity and lag issues.

It's fairly easy to tell, just by reading the threads you mentioned. However, that's still a relatively small number compared to the total number playing.

But for all those who are affected, the numbers ARE significant, and I can certainly understand their frustration, even though I've been lucky and have had no problems.

But please remember that this is still VERY early times for the OB. GGG Say they have ordered more servers, and based on their history of support, I have faith that they have, but rolling them out still takes time. Then they need to do some monitoring to see what affect this has to determine how many more server will be needed to be added, and where.

Give it some time. GGG are a small company, so their resources are tight. They do care about this game a LOT though, and in the past they have responded quickly and adroitly to issues as they arise.

lag and desync & connection issues are talked about abundantly, this is an online game, so it is only natural that these discussions exist.

Can you please link me to the most recent discussion/announcement regarding this issue where GGG has had a say in the lag/desync/connection issues?

Needless to say, GGG will always be working on trying to improve their online server issues, it would be absurd to think that they dont try and fix these.

I hope they acknowledge the problem and fix it soon. Because like I said, the longer it remains a problem, the more customers they lose. I can wait, I don't know for how long, but a lot of other people are not so patient and are quick to lay judgement.

EDIT: You may also want to try selecting a different server (at the login page) to see which one gives you the best ping.

Well hopefully I can login first before measuring my ping, yeah? The last time I was able to login was this morning and I was able to play for around 45 mins at 200ms latency (tolerable imo) before getting disconnected and not being able to connect since.

fwiw, America has been the most serviceable server for me so far even though I'm in the Philippines and Singapore is the closest server to me.
GGG have acknowledge the issue faced during the past couple of days so there's no reason to assume they would suddenly changed their approach.

This is the first weekend since Open Beta, so it is expected to get hammered and issues are going to crop up, so we just have to be patient and let them iron out all the problems. Its not possible to fix it if it doesn't occur first.

I think that's something we should all keep in mind. If anyone out there expect a trouble free experience, that's delusional. Every online games faces their own problems at launch, and its part of the process to improve the system.

Oh, and I would just want to add: Even if I gave up on D3 long ago, I've never had the connectivity or lag issues in D3 that I'm having with POE. Not even now when I try to get into D3 again after a long time, the connectivity is still solid and there not the slightest amount of lag.

No problems with D3... No problems with Dota 2... No problems with TF2... But problems with POE. So apparently, the issue is not on my end.

This is so bullshit. D3 was unplayable in first week and servers barely even stand there. DOTA 2 firts days in Beta - same - lot of lags nad Dc.

ANd we have PoE for only 2 days and servers are up 99,999% of time and a ilittle fraction pof playerbase have some issues.

Please stop compare new INDIE game with players rush (60k concurrent users today) to AAA titles that are on markek for year or more. I dont event mention that D3 is worse some days after 7 monyths on market than PoE is after two days of Open BETA.

Complaining about lag in first week of MMO/aonline game lifespan is pathetic. Ther ewill be lag, there will be bugs. Deal with it.

We can't expect the Devs to wave a magic wand and have everyone's issues solved overnight. For such a small team, these guys n gals have already addressed and embraced the community more than most other games will see in a lifetime. I'm 100% confident that this will be looked at in a fair and timely manner. Want to help get things fixed? Throw some money at them. They deserve it.

No problems here. Well i had 2 d/c's in the last 3 days but whatever. Not a big deal imo. It is a beta and this game will continue to only get better as the weeks go by.
