In-Game Trade System: Cancelled?
" Even the topic post was pushing it but this is just ridiculous. You're jumping to conclusions and a majority of your complaints or "critiques" are non sequiturs. On top of that you seem to speak for GGG on everything from their development intentions, work ethic, to their overall goals and then you proceed to berate these qualities which you (not so arbitrarily) appointed them with in the first place. Your posts do not read like someone asking a genuine question with an open-mind that is ready to offer insight as a consumer; but more like someone who has condemned a -small- company that offers a free game because they haven't catered immediately to your demands. You do realize that they could release an announcement with intentions on working on a trading system all the while having the project backlogged due to major development situations arising that requires the attention of their ---- small ---- team to continue providing you with this free service? To assume their plan from the get-go was to outsource a part of the game to a third party website (which the idea for hadn't even been conceived at the time) just shows the lack of reasoning skills you seem to have while feeling vindictive against a company that has some how wronged you. Or have I misjudged what you're trying to do, and you're really just offering constructive criticism in a rational way while arguing to better understand the situation for both sides? An auction house system is simply unavoidable and should have been included from start. Anything else only shows the developers ineptitude.

Messing with the current trading system is a HUGE gamble for GGG. That is the reason they think carefully how to make it better.

Is this the so called abduction of ethic?
First of all, tease the community about a new system but trying not talking about it later and hope no one will notice, THAT DOES NOT SOUND LIKE GGG, Chris gave a announcement minutes after a power failure of the servers when no other developer in the world would do that, but lie about this??? Somehow I think the Devs have given answers somewhere and OP just selectively ignored. Also, even if GGG just straight up cancelled that, you still got xyz you still got procurement and acquisition, trading is fine in POE for most players, that does not make GGG Nazis. GGG team work day and night for us, Poe has a major upgrade every 6 months when big company only give one in 2 years, that kind of workload is insane, even if you don't appreciate them, please don't ruin it for the rest of us, GGG can sell the game any day to big game company for years but they never did that, just be grateful. |

Several things to consider:
1. Trading has been and is a pain in the neck and then some forever. 2. Chris is on record way back in January 2014 and to date no in-game new trading system. 3. It took until the end of State of Exile episode 40 @1:15:25 for any talk about trading and Chris was vague even when directly asked by Zeno. 4. Asynchronous in-game Public Stash trading is not on the near horizon. 5. New game content is more fun to work on than fixing broken/missing game features. 6. GGG (Chris) is just giving more lip service here. 7. "Skate of Die" meaning GGG has to come out yearly with new content, next is Ascendancy, or else players get bored, leave en masse, and GGG goes out of business. This forces devs to work on next new content and never come back to complete Public Stash trading system. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. The perfect solution to fix Trade Chat: www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2247070 |

My main issue is the lack of communication. As far as I'm concerned, it would be a lot better to say "sorry guys, we just had to scrap the damn thing again for the 21st time, will start from scratch on version #22 after another cup of coffee" than no news at all.

My comfortable tinfoilhat says there won't be a trade system that's easy, fast and practical,
like a AH in wow, because that would mean a huge drop in stash tab sales for GGG. Imagine you could deposit everything worth selling at a auctioneer type NPC, it either sells, or if not, gets back to you into a remove only tab (mailbox), and you then salvage the junk by vendoring it or putting it up a few more times. There would be no more need for hoarders to buy tabs! Bad business for GGG, can't you see? A total of 8-10 tabs would be all you need. They could have done a wow-like AH years ago, they just don't WANT to! "Im smartest. Your stoped. Dael wiht it." Last edited by Quantume#0700 on Nov 22, 2015, 8:37:26 AM

i dont want auction house in poe, reason for that is fact that any game- which are prrety much all other games, have their economy driven by AH bots, and mtx sellers.
What i would like to see ggg doing is moving poetrade in to the game, and by that meakeing listing items for sale easier. we would still need lots of stash tabs(ggg wont loose $) and waste of time on trade chats would be most likley gone exept for currency to currency trades.(if crurrency trade would be added to that in game system would be even better) casuals... they always know better

It's the exact same situation that was with desync as well.
GGG knows that something like an auction house is required to improve the game. Dozens of people have pointed that out. They know what to do, they just refuse to it for their own reasons. But they will eventually have to do it, if the game survives long enoug. With desync they knew the answer from day one. They had mentioned the lockstep system, but they stated that it was not suitable for their game. Well as you can see, it might not be perfect but it is a million times better than what we had. That's why i am still so bitter about their solution. They knew it from day one and they just did not do it, and thousands of us that live in countries that servers are not very close, or net speed is not up to par had to suffer and suffer, until GGG grew out of their stubborness and decided at least try the solution that knew all along and everybody else was using. And they finally did it when i, and several others had already stopped playing. It's exactly the same with trading. Something like an AH might not be perfect, but it definetely is a million times better than the current system, and eventually it will have to be implemented in some form or another. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/417287 - Poutsos Flicker Nuke Shadow

exactly. What would make more sense is to have it implemented on standard leagues leaving the fresh challenge leagues with the the trading only scene. Standard league is the dumpster league of many many leagues years of RMT , bots over priced shit which leaves quite a bad taste to any one playing it... which makes people just wait for new leagues to deal with a fresh economy which in turn for most average players they get to a high enough level at end of the new the leagues but not quite.. for that endgame content... Resulting in frustration and eventual fallout from the game. @GGG Implement it on standard leagues. Domine Non Es Dignus
