3 Years and still no trade system....

Facepalm
Customer handling 101, if numerous customers are asking about the same thing, have a more informative answer than "we can't say anything at the moment". After working 6+ years in customer service I've learned that some information, even it's terrible, is better than no information at all.

Even if they don't have any timeline about it, just a short line about the state of work regarding the system. Or if they are even doing it. Just some information would be better than how this has been handled in my opinion.
Telling players about plans to bring a new feature is no different than promising to deliver it, in my book. This is not an in house topic that you talk with your relatives. This is a company to customer comunication.
You plan to add something : you tell yo intend to... if not just dont rise the hope for a "long waited feature" and drag it for 3 years... Or if you decide to drop it, you declare so...

And to short witeds: GGG have brought this "trade system" debate on the table. Op is right on asking for why no meaningfull answers comes from GGG in 3 years.
Nothing said in the Answers to Developer Q&A about the long overdue "public stash" trading mechanic so that means a big NO! We will always suffer (and bitch at GGG) for them not implementing a better/easier way to trade. Curse the damn third party trade sites for making GGG think that they didn't need to place public stash trading high up on their to-do list.
"You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.

Yes, we know. What now? It has been said million of times. Nothing said about it here. (We have nothing to say about it, is not an answer, btw)We have to wait another 3 more years, I suppose. :@

Public Stash trading mechanic would be the death of the trading in PoE... Some people are already complaining about market manipulation and none would like to see bots buying all specific item to resell them immediatly at higher price...
This can be done "by hand" today but it's painfull and very long.. Imagine with bots....

At the end, I think we can thank GGG to not update the trading system...

In-game Acquisition/Procurement with poe.trade would do, really. :P

I refer back to my original statement. I firmly believe just about anything GGG implement now would seem to fall short of what poe.trade has already achieved, simply because poe.trade functions MUCH more like a simple marketplace/auction house than GGG themselves would ever want implemented.

I imagine if you really want change, you either bitch and moan until it happens (or quit if you reach some sort of tolerance threshold waiting for the change) or you make the change yourself.

This community chose the latter when it came to trade conditions. That doesn't exactly scream 'effective protest' to me. Were I GGG, I'd not look at poe.trade and think of it as a failure to implement an out-of-game trading tool, but as a success for making a game that people so loved playing that they made their own.

Forum-based trade is coming. They made this forum for precisely that purpose, but I suspect it'll implicitly complement poe.trade rather than replace it. At least, that's how GGG might want to approach it.

I hope the above helps illustrate why it may not be the number one priority for GGG.

The problem in my opinion tho, is a game so much based around trading, not having implemented an ingame "match-making" tool (yes we have tradechat, but don't get me started on that matter), a poe.trade-kind of tool ingame with trade-stash where you can set "wanted price", would take matters in house and make it alot easier for the casual trader who just wants to get rith of some things and buy some upgrades.

With all due respect, I think you may have forgotten some of the specific details of the planned system that were discussed. Specifically, the ability to trade via the forum without having to go in game. That's what I was waiting for, and I think its a big deal to other people too. Its the difference between spending my Friday night playing the game, or standing around in town doing trades. I can visit the forum almost anytime, anywhere, but I don't have the option of spending as much time in game as I used to, and I'd like to use that time for killing stuff and fishing rather than trading. This isn't a functionality that can be offered to us by a third party without breaking the rules, it can only come from GGG.

That being said, I'm kind of over this issue, I've accepted that it is unlikely to happen and it doesn't detract from the huge number of promises that GGG has worked diligently to keep over the years. Awesome game is still awesome even if the trading system isn't :p

You didn't finish reading my post. My second last paragraph addresses that.

I read it, and was slightly bemused by the part you're referring to. When is it coming? This whole thread is about the complete lack of communication over the updated trading system that we were told about.

Are you referring to something you were told privately? If so, take a step back and look at what people are complaining about in this thread. It's not just the lack of implementation, but the fact that they have no idea what is going on with it, they are completely out of the loop as far as changes to the trade system are concerned.

Also when you say "it's coming", I heard that before like, 3 years ago. Again, that'st the whole point of the thread.
