we all know that they left it to 3rd parties but trying to understand it is a waste of time imo. ggg just dont wanna do the work to make it happen. loosing hundreds of players in the process. until they rectify it im tired of the trade simulator.

u know they hate that name....TRADE SIMULATOR

We're so used to poe.trade now that just about anything GGG can implement at this point would probably fall short.

And then you'd have something ELSE to get your knickers in a knot about, 'Godly'.

Poe.trade had quite some issues two weeks or so back. This tool has many issues (e.g. not taking online status from POE directly, etc, etc..).

Without that tool, I and many many people would simply un-install the game.

I'd be flabbergasted if GGG did not realize that their game would have 1/10th of its player base without it.

How one could let such a critical strategic part of the game in the hands of someone else is beyond me.

You could be wrong. Who says that they would lose players other than you? I dont trade much at all and i wouldnt uninstall.
People will always complain about trading. I can't remember when I had trouble buying an item using poe.trade. Of course, it happens that I see an item I'd love to obtain but the trader happens to be offline, but there's always an even good item I can get for a similar price. Also, whatever item I was selling this league, I sold within a few days (usually hours if it's a commonly desired item liked Abyssus or Maligaro's). IMO the main problem with trading at the moment is that we still use chaos as the dollar bill of PoE. We should've switched to alterations/jeweller's/fusings a long time ago. These are easily obtainable and contrary to chaos are useful and desired. Fusings are already close to 1:1 with chaos, so why do even bother selling and buying for chaos?

Yes, trade system really need an improvement.

For now, situation is:

For buyer: poe.trade is good enough as search engine.
But actual trade is bad. If NPC in hideout could sell me an item, that is listed for sale it would be much better.

I never tried to put anything for sale since I afraid it's too complicated.
The way I would do is...

1) I create a sleeker web interface on POE actual website similar to poe.trade
2) Design a 2nd stash area within our hideouts, not tab! And call it "marketplace" .Strictly for sale items, not storage!
3) Allow people to view said items in said "marketplace" on the new online interface by GGG instead of poe.trade
4) Allow people to login, visit the player's marketplace "offline or online" but grant no access to portals or any other interfaces in said hideout...just market place and stash tab to access their stuff.
5) To get item player must click item, deposit the asking currency, then item is deposited in their bags, or stash if bags are full.
6) Allow for multiple means of selling within said interface, examples below

>>> Straight buy-out for listed price.
>>> Best offer within seller chosen time frame, price is never reveled nor are you notified of being outbid (6hr, 12hr, 24hr)
>>> Straight standard auction, seller starts a base price...auction last via a chosen time "6hr, 12hr, 24hr" and players are notified if they are out-bid.

7) Allow for seller to offer multiple ways of purchase both on the online interface and the in-game interface. Has to be both to actually work! Meaning they will except X amount of Exalts, Chaos Orbs, Fuses, ect, ect...just deposit the currency you wish to pay with, and get the item.

What this does is keeps a things similar to how they are, just removes some of the annoyances...making it easier on seller/buyer ends, without making it D3 auction easy! It also adds a bit of "will I get it" to the mix, cause even if the item is "straight buy-out" it doesn't mean you will get to that "seller's" hideout and be the only one there! You could get there and the item already be gone!

You aren't alone in your thoughts, OP. I think you're fully in the right to make your statement of 'what gives' on the earlier trading system promised ages ago. Sorry to see your trolled so hard as many old timers (like myself) were hoping to see something added before finally returning.

Looks like we finally have our answer and it's time to put it to pasture. ( And our support).

OP, ignore all the haters. They do the same to anyone with a valid complaint, because most of them truly don't understand what should be simple logic. They are retarded, and can't beat retards in an argument. You're dissappointed. I get it. Let the thread die and move on.

Can we vote for post of the day? As sad as it could appear I vote for the one above xD.

Might not be the most positive but I am glad to see people using their heads at times.

I changed my mind, I am voting for this post as post of the day ;).

Not 100% sure I agree with the all approach as I believe we need an overall view on items poe.trade style otherwise this tool will be closed to unused and poe.trade live on forever.

That said there's some good points there. Great job mate!

Yay because with your logic
not having something better is better than having something better...

No. Because the downside of having a far more efficient trading system is, that the most efficient way to play PoE (in such a system) is to trade instead of actually killing stuff. This is an unhealthy incentive structure that promotes nothing but endless trading.

For my sake they can try to create a trading system, but I seriously hope it won't become an "sell items while offline action house" system, because it kills the gameplay (just as it did with D3).
