" It's amazing that we feel so very different. To me RoS drops are boring and only once or twice an hour do I get anything worth looking at. In PoE Im constantly picking up things that add value to my character. It's far more rewarding playing here, hence PoE gets most of my time. |

" This. RoS feels rewarding for the first 20 hours or so and then that slows down a lot (not to mention that drops are boring from the beginning but at least I'm getting 'moar deeps!!!'). In PoE I get currency or items I can sell all the time, and in addition to that I get interesting drops which make me want to reroll and try different things. Overall much more satisfying than in RoS. GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

" Seems like we play different versions of those games, because in RoS I get something interesting almost every evening runs, in PoE I just vendor almost everything I get from 1-2 maps I try to run every day, it's usually not worth ID scroll to ID it. And even if what I drop in RoS is not interesting, I can salvage it for crafting further upgrades. Possibly, that I don't recognize getting something "I can sell" as "rewarding" as I don't trade. If I drop something, what is not usable for my characters, it's just vendor trash in both games (with difference, that I get more from vendoring items in RoS, than in PoE). The other possible difference is, that I actually have more than 10 80+ level characters here in PoE and my lowest respecced character now is 70 lvl one. But from the other hand, I have T6 grade wizard in RoS and my other classes are T3 grade (even bounties I do at least on T1). But the more important is, that I can admire deepness of an item, if I have it at hand. Considering drop rates here, I have next to none items to admire... Anticipation slowly dissipates...

" Yes, if you don't trade at all I think the games are much more comparable. D3 might even have an edge considering I can go a whole evening mapping and not drop a unique... But I enjoy dropping chaos and quality gems too. I also look at white items and I chance and alch things. D3 is lacking here. Maybe to you it's just more streamlined in its crafting. But I feel PoE has more options. |

RoS: upgrades every night?
absolutely not. once you hit about 700k dps, there's a gear check\wall. where you need that specific BiS item or nothing. magefist, kridershot, tal rasha, vyr....every class has 1\2 viable builds and some mandatory items to use that build. there's no way to find a replacement for that item. granted you're lucky enough to drop that set item you need, hope it rolls the right attributes or recycle it immediately. and as you can't trade, you play for that specific item which drop odds are zero. d3 is a game of grind. pick a class, copy\paste the only viable skill\gear build....grind it 2000/3000hrs until that item drops. no theorycrafting. no reroll. no sociality. no trade. brainless, hardcore grind...a lottery, not a arpg. |

" As a self proclaimed GGG "whiteknight" fanboy, the same is true for PoE. Except, PoE does this better in my own personal opinion because you can trade your lower gear/currency and eventually stack it up to buy that item. Many people forget that, or refuse to do that, so they are left bitter, using their lower currency to buy lotto tickets instead of saving it never to own said item, whatever it may be. Many say you can progress and then lose it all and have nothing to show for it, sure. You can also go to a casino and put your net worth on black and roll red. Moderation is the key to both, if you "gamble" less than you bank, eventually you can buy that item you were gambling for. |

" Of course that once you hit a certain point, it will be about min-maxing. And you can do that every evening, with the mystic and the mod replacement, either that would be on your current gear, trying to squeeze out some more toughness/DPS, or on the gear in stash that's waiting to get enchanted. Same situation in PoE, but in PoE, you save orbs to buy an upgrade. And yes, D3 is a game of grind, where you kill monsters to get upgrades. Copy/paste the only viable build? What? I suggest learning the meaning of the word "viable". And of course you won't have any theorycrafting when you copy/paste a build. No reroll? Why not? At least with a different class. No sociability? In what way exactly? No trade? Not literally, but yes, no trade. It's a matter of a taste. Brainless grind? A lottery? You're describing PoE with that. " Please, tell me this guy's joking. Let me tell you this: I own RoS, I have a Wizzard with 1 million damege. The loot grind in RoS for me is: 1. All rare items are trash. They're nothing. They may as well be grays. 2. MOST of the Legendaries are just glorified rares. It's fucking horrible and a disgrace to an ARPG genre. There are only a handful of legs with legendary affix. Like, what the fuck were they smoking making those bland legs? 3. I only look for a few specific BiS legendaries/sets. The chance for me of getting those legs/sets are minimal. And guess what? I CAN'T EVEN TRADE FOR THE PIECE I NEED! TLDR: After you hit 1M damage you sell or don't even pick up most rares. Most legs are trash, you only look for a few BiS ones. You can't trade for the piece you need. In PoE I could have no luck farming for a specific piece I need, BUT the most important thing is I will always get myself closer to what I need because I will TRADE my farmed items/currency for the piece I need. This is the main and the biggest reason why D3 suck. You can grind for days and you won't be closer to getting that piece. Ever. Oh, and once you have a barb, there is absolutely no reason to roll another. That also is a disgrace to an ARPG genre. D3 RoS is fucking horrible and you know that. Stop lying to yourself and look at facts. IGN: Iworkeout Last edited by cutt#5066 on May 14, 2014, 10:06:55 AM
