Appeal to GGG – Mana leech

There was a time were downtimes were actually normal in video games because one needed to rest a minimum between fights .... now everyone is taking perma-sustain for granted ...

Quite sad tbh.

Anyway, expensive combinations should require an investment to perma sustain them, or downtimes, this is just fair.
Now, some combinations may not have a cost according to their effects of course, but I don't think it's too bad atm still.

Most of the builds don't have problems mid-fight with leech, at all.
So basically, it has no effect mid-fight in most of the cases.

Again:

Just shut up and admit you were wrong. It's embarrassing. It has a severe negative impact on pretty much any build with simultaneous attacks which is not a small amount.

You didn't understand how it worked before. Now you do. Be happy that you learned something.

You seem mad enough for us to assume that you could not adapt your build well to the new changes with mana, I guess you're running BM now, too bad other people succeded there where you didn't ( some builds are obviously better suited for that ).

So yeah, speaking about the majority of builds : they don't care during the fight.
You can generalize when you are speaking about a majority, not a minority ( like you did ).

Mana has no workaround ? Ever heard of mana regeneration ? Ever heard of clarity ? Ever heard of reducing skills cost ? etc ...

He's mad because the patch killed his character. I'm mad because it's killed mine. And collectively there are at least 25 pages on mana specifically being an issue now.

Please for the love of God read some of the ten thousand posts here about all the manymanymanymanymanymanymanymanymanymanymanymanymanymanymanymany things we've tried and how none of it works and how it does ******* affect us mid fight before antagonising further.

I don't have a problem with that, I have a problem with some expensive combos being affected and other expensive combos not.

Besides, it's not logical at the least, in my example from some pages ago, split arrow did more overall damage per use than barrage, same attack rate, same number of hits, same mana cost, barrage is sustainable - split isn't.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Wayy too many un-legitimate QQs from people not being able to adapt in those sorry, maybe there are some points worth reading, but they are sunk under all the QQs.

Actually, it didn't kill my character because I don't have one to kill.

It did, however, kill any desire I had to make a mana based attacking build. Which I did.

"GUESS THAT'S RULED OUT."

Edit: I think I figured it out.

If everybody is eventually pigeonholed into the same exact build (or just a small group of builds), then the only way to differentiate ourselves from others will be micro-transaction effects. Having too many different builds being possible at the same time would allow for too much diversity, reducing profits.

;)

I agree - it's not a set % anymore, it's near impossible to predict and it doesn't make any sense.

youve tried manymany things and yet youve not linked your build/gear - in such case it is just qq

what people here say is they think that 3 nodes is too much and 6 is absolute insanity! with such mindset i wish them all the best

Considering that 85% of your tree has to be defensive just to survive most 74+ maps yes, sparing 3 to 6 nodes is pretty hard.
If you guys haven't figured it out yet, one of the points of the leech change was precisely to make some of your skills unsustainable. You're not supposed to be able to mindlessly spam certain skills, in particular AoE nukes, endlessly.

Mana leech still works okay on single-target type attacks — you know, the type where you have to actually make decisions about which monsters you wish to target, rather than firing blindly into a horde.
