So frustrating that the same mistake is repeated in every D2 clone

But I know you don't care. Talking about "all you whiners" is telling enough.

Depends on what I should be "caring" about. It isn't specific.

But complaining about Shavronnes, 6-links, level 100 and the like is comparable to this:

"
What I usually didn't have, was the ultra-rare stuff. Perfect charms, perfect high-end uniques, etc. But that didn't bother me. There was so much to do with all the other stuff that it really didn't matter.

Now obviously you have a point you are trying to make, else you wouldn't bother typing all of that up. What is it?

Edit: To clarify I'm not saying YOU were whining about those things. I'm saying the complaints that people are making are never about just reaching level 70-80-ish with average gear. It is always about "completing" characters by getting max level, 6-links whenever they want one, any item regardless of rarity, etc.

Your experience with D2 sounds spot-on, but not sure what it has to do with PoE, since so far in my experience, it has been about the same. Even though most of my chars have been killed off in Nemesis, and lost a number of uniques that way, I still have quite a bit laying around.

OK, post begone.

My point was that PoE is nothing like D2 in that regard. That it's an endless grind that gives you nothing but a slowly increasing amount of currency with which to buy stuff. That you have to set up a shop and engage in trades to even remotely come close to the versitility of D2.

That, in that regard, PoE plain sucks. Which is really a terrible shame since it's so much better in so many other regards. That's my experience at least.

Diablo 2 learned this lesson a decade ago, that the game just isn't as fun or good as it could be if you don't get good items.

You did not get items like Griffon's and Death's Web in a single play through. If you are lucky, Wizardspike and Shako were fairly easy to get.

I'm constantly boggled whenever people attempt to make comparisons to D2. Have any of you ACTUALLY played D2? The drop rates on higher TC's were ridiculous and if the game were released today, all you whiners would still be complaining about how your entitlement demands the drop rates be changed so you can easily get a Griffon's Eye on every sorc you create.

The problem here isn't the game, but how perceptions have changed over the last 15 years.

This times 1000. The entitlement grows hard on this thread.
One example: That whiner Tinko92 showed his almost perfectly crafted shield yet he is STILL here whining his ass off that he is not getting 'enough'. Perfect example of an entitled, dropped out of reality type which we got 13 in a dozen here.

I laughed so hard on this...

Please provide me a link where I whine about not getting enough gear drop.

Those who are interested can read your post history.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with the game, except maybe trading options. The only problem are the players who don't understand math or how exponential progression curve works in terms of acquiring power and gear.
YOU already won the game with that shield. You won, get it? Now leave and don't come back because this game offers you nothing anymore.

What you're describing is D3

So, no links?

I'm not here to win the game by getting excellent gear.
