So frustrating that the same mistake is repeated in every D2 clone

I've had a few friends try out PoE, and they've all quit because the itemisation was no good. Anecdotal evidence, sure, but you just need to look at the Steam player graphs to see that PoE is losing a large number of players.

same here. everyone of my mates quit after a short period of playing. i helped tzhem with gear and builds. but still ...

their complaints

1. unrewarding
2. too much to learn
3. good items cost too much
4. trading sucks

Those complaints, especially the second one, say nothing about the game, more about your mates.

Nope, they say a great deal about the game, you just need to pull your head out of the sand to realise it.
Bullshit. they do not use twitter or facebook at all and they play games the whole day.
just not poe anymore.

to much to learn = game does not help players to learn stuff at all.
ever heard of tutorials?

new players in poe are lost completly.

edit: thx cyborg :)

Or maybe they're just too stupid to actually learn the game and it's intricacies? Ever thought about that?

"tl;dr pls"

No really, learning the game mechanics, browsing through wiki and finding out something new is quite an exciting thing. But, I guess nowadays people wish everything to be served on a golden plate rather than burdening oneself with such a silly thing as thinking.

@HeroOfExile, ad hominem isn't the best way to portray your intelligence level. Rather than insulting one, how about you tell us the "core problem"? Would love to read it.

People keep quoting Steam Charts as a reliable source when the only Chart that matters are the financial charts at GGG. Every game in the history of gaming has had declining player base. No biggie. Doesn't matter.
two REALLY good mods on a magic item >>> 3 (or4) so-so mods on a rare

My friend's a sysadmin for a large ecommerce retailer, he's played various games at high competitive levels. He quit because of the itemisation.

Resorting to attacks against people is really not helping this conversation.

It doesn't matter who started it. You are insulting others, that is what matters.

Now, how about you tell us the "core problem" of PoE? Or was it just empty talk?

@Cyborg, your highest character is 52 and complaining about acquiring items? Like, you don't get needed gear on the hit to steamroll through content?
