So frustrating that the same mistake is repeated in every D2 clone

I started playing about 8 months ago during beta. I was having a pretty good time for a while. Then I quickly found out I was going to get know where without trading. The last thing I wanted to do was spam chat looking for an upgrade. Seems exactly like D3 with the AH. I just don't get why game companies think this way is good?? I just want to play the game, have fun, find nice gear for whatever build I'm doing and start over with a new character/build.
Why force us to gear our characters using anything other then killing monsters/completing quests etc.

That's exactly where I'm at too. Real world economy is enough for me. Don't need that in a hack & slash game too

Well.. The game is supposed to be fun. And it seems different players find different things fun.
What I found fun at first is the character building but if the game is not giving me stuff to have this fun then there is nothing much to do here. I didn't download this game to participate in economy simulator or something. If game is about grinding then make the player feel like they are getting something out of it. Game has to be fun not a second job in my humble opinion. It has to be fun for everyone, not just small percentage of lucky players.

And the argument "how would it be if everyone had X" is kind of silly in my opinion. My choice of the game depends on how much fun I am having, not how much some other people are having. And I have put away this game in favor for other games already, just occasionally checking the forums and patch notes (while I remember to do so) if things are getting better.

If there is enough stuff to do with the items the game doesn't die because player has all the items. I like to gather for some time and build for lots of time, not the other way..

Fully agreed with you.

The main problem I have with the itemisation in this game is how hard it can be to find adequate gear, particularly as you're levelling.

The grind for perfect gear makes sense as it's a strong way to keep people improving and a good driver for PvP, thus it should remain as it is.

Crafting is also a shitfest at the moment. Unless you've got hundreds of exalts worth of currency, you're better off just not using your currency to craft at all - that's not fun.

I've had a few friends try out PoE, and they've all quit because the itemisation was no good. Anecdotal evidence, sure, but you just need to look at the Steam player graphs to see that PoE is losing a large number of players.

So:

* Make finding and crafting decent gear easier (think up-to 2nd tier mods)
* Make finding and crafting perfect mirror-worthy gear a little harder
Out of curiosity, has anyone tried just using magic gear when they really need a specific mod? I was looking at the that thread for the guy who was only using magic gear and he was getting some pretty good gear by only aiming for a specific mod on each piece of gear. It isn't really that hard to farm alterations either.

Magic items are severely underrated. Peope act as if they dont exist. And obtaining stacks of alteration and transmutation orbs is very doable.

How can blue item with 2 affixes can be better than yellow item with 3+ affixes?

Same goes for me. Before I quit again, I had all of my leveling gear handed out across 4 friends' accounts. I will probably never see it again now, since I am on a break and they will never be back. The game is too lackluster when you're 85+ and grinding out 12 hours days to see 0 weapons that are 40% of BiS dps.

Those complaints, especially the second one, say nothing about the game, more about your mates.
