Poor customer service, bad business
|
My opinion on the matter is that it isn't BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE but it is a little bit unethical. That being said, GGG is very ethical on many other levels.
IMO nothing should be cheaper in open beta than it was in closed beta but it isnt my decision to make. Personally i thought that open beta prices would be higher. I took the wrong gamble and bought mine in the closed beta. I too have complained. Doubt anything will come of it but there you go. GGG could have saved themselves this upset simply by making the prices as follows: Single Stash tab 40 Premium Stash Tab 50 Sale Price upgrade to Premium for closed beta members only 10 Upgrade to premium stash tab 20 6 Tabs sale price 180 6 premium tabs sale price 250 All Sales end 31/01/13 Simple. After which they could revert to the same system as now and no one would have battered an eyelid. Personally I wont go nuts and quit over something as daft as this, but it will deter me from pumping as much money into the game as I otherwise might have done |

GGG said multiple times that prices and packages WOULD change. You took the risk of buying early, I took the risk of waiting. It could have just as easily been reversed and Tabs could have gone up in price. I knew that full well when deciding to wait (6 months of waiting mind you on tabs).
Had GGG never mentioned prices/packages changing I would fully support you. But they did and you decided not to wait. Its a risk plain and simple. I would not have gone to GGG and asked them to sell me tabs at the CB price had they gone up in price but I would have felt like a dumbass for waiting. |

@ OP >> QQ, not getting a refund on something you bought does not equal poor customer service. Grow up little kid.

seriously if you call poor customer service and bad business the fact that they ANSWERED you fast because you bought something and some days later the same something has a promo price...
then sorry OP but cool story bro When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself

GGG is certainly in the right here -- especially with the forewarning ahead of time. Items in item malls, micro transaction shops, etc., sometimes go on sale. I've never heard of a game refunding "retail" price, or expanding the earlier purchase to the new incentivised version, when said sale happens. Why would GGG be any different? And why, then, would following the normal practice in this business model equate to poor customer service and bad business?
Sorry, you're just wrong here. It may be common practice in your country for goods purchased, but it's not in the venue of gaming micro transactions. Last edited by Bodach#0930 on Jan 24, 2013, 11:03:56 AM

Excuse me OP but, you're asking for a refund because right now there is a better deal available. Do you do that with everything you buy irl as well?
Say for instance, you buy a pack of chewing gum for 20 cents, then the next day there's a 4 pack for 60 cents. Are you one of those people who will go back with their pack of chewing gum to get the 5 cents difference in value per pack back? Because honestly, that's ridiculous. Sales come and go. I can't even begin to tell you how many dollars I've "wasted" on Steam buying games that later were in sales for 75% off. Tough luck. It's that simple. At least you got to use the stashes a few days earlier than the people buying the 6 pack now, that's your advantage, if you don't like that well, you should have thought about that before you spent your coins. This company policy is fair and understandable, your mark of "poor customer support" is unjustified. Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done.
Lay your portal gem to rest, don't you die no more. 'Cause it's a bitter sweet symphony this league. Try to make maps meet, you're a slave to the meta, then you leave. |

I'm sorry, I'm confused. From my standpoint it seemed like you spent your money and were happy with your choices. Then after a few days passed a better sale was available and then instead of just shrugging your shoulders and thinking, "Oh well." and continuing enjoying the game you decided that it was THEIR fault that YOU bought stash tabs and they should refund you the difference?
Uhm.... Do you know of any stores in the real world that would do that for you? You know all those threads about entitled gamers? I think they are talking about you. Last edited by EvilParfait#6039 on Jan 24, 2013, 11:08:20 AM

" This, happens all the time here in uk(scotland). We can easily go back and get the difference or return all together if we are not satisfied. My gran also does this from time to time where she lives in America(Florida). It is actually VERY common business practice all over. As it show's that you are willing to go the extra mile for your customer thus bringing them back, and I do go back to those places and I am sure others do. |

" Nearly every store that want's returning customers. |
