Poor customer service, bad business
What moronic argument. Seems like OP still living in stone age and don't how businesses and marketing works. Welcome to capitalism!.
Where I live, often times gas prices change on daily basis. Should I go ask for refund every time gas station drops price? Last edited by ubikenobi#7201 on Jan 24, 2013, 1:30:12 PM

" I wouldn't insult you for it, but I wouldn't think you'd have much chance of getting it back. :/ Sales just doesn't work that way. I'm not saying it doesn't suck, just that it's part of the deal. If you buy something with a no refund stipulation then you can't really ask for a refund, unless it's not fit for purpose. And in the case of digital goods, proving that is going to be next to impossible. I'm not a n00b- I'm a Online Game Floor Examination Expert.

" Believe it or not, this kind of shit actually happens here. My wife is a manager of a major retail franchise here, and this kind of thing happens ALOT. Its pretty pathetic how low customers can go sometimes. Whats worse though, is that ALOT of companies give in and cater to the customers. Customers always right? Pffft. Theres good PR, and than theres bad customers. GGG - Why you no?

I'm sorry I got to this thread late - I was awake for 40 hours over the launch so I was asleep while this thread was posted.
PureLaine: I'm very sorry that you received that reply from our customer support team. It doesn't really answer your question (as you were asking about a refund), and while I did ask them to explain the reason for this type of policy is abuse, I'm sorry that it makes you feel like you were being accused of it. It may be best for us to change that wording. The customer support team are dealing with literally thousands of different requests ranging from answering questions like this to dealing with complex payment plans, tech support issues and moderating the 50,000+ players who are playing at any one time (it's them who do most of the mutings as problems develop). In this case it appears they just misread your concern and hastily sent you the form reply that they'd send if someone wanted a refund on a microtransaction that they decided they didn't like. With regard to the actual core complaint of us promoting a bundle of stash tabs on sale at a special price, that's going to happen from time to time. We're planning discounts on various microtransactions, and I believe this business practise is very commonplace. I'm about to go buy some soda for the office and I will probably have to pay full retail price despite there being the possibility that it'll be discounted (or discounted for bulk packages) next week. I will strive to make it more clear in the shop that the prices can change (in some cases drastically). Please contact me any time if you have any more business or design concerns about the shop. That applies to everyone - my personal address is chris@grindinggear.com. Normal customer support emails should go to support@grindinggear.com. I currently have a big backlog of a thousand or so emails and PMs to deal with, so replies may be delayed. Edit: This thread contains a large amount of personal attacks against people. Please try to be nice to each other! Now that we're in Open Beta and have a gigantic community we have to try hard to keep the forums a clean place. " I would like to. I can't change our policy on offering periodic discounts/sales but I still feel bad about customers getting upset after they've generously supported us to make the game what it is. | |
" Exactly people. Grow up and be nice please. The Get-Along-Gang. GGG - Why you no?

" I honestly don't even see how you have time for threads like this, considering everyone has your personal e-mail, and you probably get hundreds of e-mails that are not even worth your time. Thanks posting anyway though... Shows you and the rest of your team cares about the community--this certainly doesn't happen in the dozens of other games I've played in the past year or so.
