Poor customer service, bad business
The OP is the lowest form of life.
Nobody forced you to buy it at the price you bought it at. Are you going to buy a car and then try to get refunded the depreciation value? for what it's worth, I wasn't overly happy to see the immediate discount on tabs but all we have here is a missed opportunity for GGG to do another great thing on top of all the great things they've already done.
For instance, GGG could have given supporters who bought lots of tabs an equivalent gift instead of a refund e.g. if you bought 30 = 6x5 tabs during closed beta, GGG might have gifted 5 more tabs or 10 premium stash tab upgrades as a gesture of good will. GGG haven't done anything like that. Maybe it would have been too much of a headache? Whatever the case, it's their call. I've seen enough problems happen with ppl trying before buying and using it as a trick in many f2p games with microtransactions. Personally speaking, the OP should have also known that things change a lot from time to time in such circumstances. Especially in a small company with limited staff. Trying to raise being unable to get stash tabs for free, imho, is kind of silly. The laws in Canada are not the laws that GGG have to follow in NZ. There's another point. I fail to see why you got upset because you were unable to get a savings deal out of it. Furthermore, making a hue and cry about it on the forums is hardly likely to change things as they are. Personally speaking, I'm not upset about this or that package deal. I've bought and paid for a bunch of stash tabs even before OB started. Got some more thrown in only today. I'm glad for the deal though because it makes my transaction credit go a little further. The best we can hope for is that GGG takes note of any concerns raised and tries to sort it out in a mutually agreeable way between their customer base and themselves. Slandering and white-knighting aside, their policy is no returns and they have to stick by that policy. If they make one exception then they have to make 1,000. Maybe it isn't fair to you personally, but they seem to be treating everyone equally as a whole. Also, just because one company does things a certain way doesn't mean they all do. Each one has it's own return policy. Here in the USA, some of the big names will make such concessions. But for every company that will, i can think of half a dozen that wouldn't. You are upset over a sale when you previously purchased an item but sales are going to happen and if they gave refunds of points every time a sale happened then customer service would be doing nothing but that. They have to stick to the policies they have created that do make sense and are there to protect themselves from people who exploit, not saying you do but just as this realm crash has shown us today - one customer using an exploit is all it takes to ruin everything for everyone. I do however have an issue with you saying GGG has poor customer service. GGG has the best customer service in the business, perhaps the only customer service in the business and they do not deserve the knee jerk because you happen to disagree with their policy. They have to have a policy on refunds, they just do and i am sorry you disagree with it but that does not name their customer service bad. It makes it FAIR and EQUAL for everyone. I would be mad if they bent the rules for one person here or there personally. Seriously GGG has bent over backwards to make everyone happy so far and i for one am mighty impressed with the level of customer service they provide. Having worked as a manager at one of the most customer service oriented businesses in the entire world, that is saying more than you could ever know. " I've always heard jokes about Canadians but I didn't get them as I live in Europe and didn't meet any Canadian personally. I don't want to generalize all Canadian nation but if high percentage of Canada goes to shops crying and saying "give me money back I bought this x days ago and now it is cheaper", now I get those jokes. This kind of sh*t happens in most aspects of life, act like an adult, accept and get used to it. I'm tottaly on the side of GGG on this one, because I can understand that even they have customer-centric approach in most cases, acting different than stated on the policy would be complete nonsense. The whole point of "sales" is that getting something at a cheaper price is more attractive. If everyone could just say "Oh, it was more expensive when I bought it. I want you to refund me the difference" there'd be no point in having a sale because everyone could claim a refund and get it at that price anyway! This is really that complicated a concept to some people? OP, I don't think you have the guts to leave the game like you say you will, but I genuinely hope you do. You have a lot of nerve to try to paint GGG as having poor customer service and doing bad business when they've been nothing but professional and transparent. Just wow. You paid more for your slots so you could use them immediately during closed beta. People who buy them now did not have the option to use them during closed beta. You paid extra so you could use your tabs early. It might be a little pricey when you view it like that, but it's what you did. Besides you buyed them with your support pack. I don't know how many credits you got (about 2500 right?) but normally you don't get that amount for that price (at least not with the added perks of a DVD and other goodies). So you actually got your tokens on discount... that's why you can't really complain now that they give new players some discount. For 4 dollars it isn't the hassle.
Also, they didn't imply you were a scammer - they simply stated the reasons for their policy and then told you they would stick to it in your case. Though some people here can be a little less butthurt. Everyone's entitled to their opinion and their view on the matter. You can't slander people for that. |
