Poor customer service, bad business

Should have read their policies before you dropped $250 blindly.

my mouth literally fell on the ground.

I dont think you know what that word means.
Lol! I just noticed that he edited his first post to quote the scant few people who are sympathetic with his cause but hasn't actually replied to anyone's actual points beyond saying, "IT'S A THING HERE IN CANADA."

Canada also gave us Justin Bieber.
Dude, you're blowing this way out of proportion.

And if that is in fact a reason for you to quit(or only change your feelings towards GGG)
then good riddance!

Very little respect I see here for our fellow players. Disagreement doesn't have to come with name-calling and vitriol. You think calling someone stupid reflects poorly on THEM. It actually reflects poorly ON YOU.

All of you who have partaken in it are wrong in all your countries for doing so. It's called human decency. There's no need to call names while we debate whether GGGs shop policies should improve. If nothing else, that's pretty much the principle in question: should they improve their customer service on such trivial things as a stash tab? If you can't talk about that without name-calling, you don't deserve to be able to post on the forum.

To all of you screaming about your countries consumer policies ....I'm willing to bet some of you are from America. Most department stores (yes, the trillionaires who can certainly afford to lose a few hundred customers) offer time windows for returning things that go on sale. For example, 14-day refunds if the item goes on sale within 14 days of your purchase, or 30 or 60 days. See Macys, Carson's, Sears, and all those other major stores swimming in cash and customers. They will refund you the difference if an item goes on sale within that given time frame if you bought it. This is called not being difficult about something trivial. That customer will spend 100x's more money in your store if you just give them a refund on something they don't like. This is how they get such great customer loyalty. because the refund pays for itself and 1000s of other customer transactions. 1 refund. This is a highly effective business practice. All you psuedo-businessmen claiming how stupid this is ...the trillionaires beg to differ. This isn't uncommon in ANY country. Perhaps it is in the neighborhoods in which you shop, but not in the world. Different strokes, different folks. Smart businessmen make their money on these exact kinds of policies, not on sticking it to the customer.

And this is STILL not grounds for name-calling, even if you disagree with the practice.

Moderators, where are you?
This is the kind of crap which will relegate PoE to the dark cesspools of the gaming community. To irrelevance. Sheer human indecency being tolerated. You diamond and gold and other super supporters ought to be ashamed: you're a big face in this community and you're showing all the guests what a shitty community this is. You're shiny forum titles could be used to show how awesome this community is. Instead you're going to be the reason the game gets bad reviews.

Mods? This pettiness and incivility should be unwelcome.

So you're calling GGG a bad business with poor customer service because they didn't give you free stuff? Stop whining, you ingrate. I wish I had the money to be a gold supporter but I don't, so don't complain that they doing everything expected of them (and more in most other cases).

OP, sorry but you are an idiot.

Have you ever seen anybody going to a store, asking for some money back on an item that they purchased a few days back and just got on discount? No? Then why should GG do that?

And thank you Kildram (and the rest of you) for your civil posts.

actually... I do this frequently... not for 2 ~ 5 $ ... but on items that go 20~30% off... I go back and ask for my money.

you have to realize here, that the OP is not complaining about 4$... that's chunk change.. he's complaining about the principle.

Canada has really strong consumer protection laws that prevent us from being gouged (well.. as much as possible) from retailers. Sometimes it's easy to forget that we are dealing with foreign companies.

Calling the OP stupid just shows the lack of understanding from where he comes from.

I noticed the same price diff last night, and I too was a little mift about it. I decided to just hold my breath in for the small amount of $ the effort would be worth to me.. but I'm glad the OP here posted and stood up for what he believes is right (in our neck of the world).

IT's a shame that our ways offend some of you to the point of calling him stupid...

example of a big retailer:

https://secure.sears.ca/content/customer-service/pricing/price-match-plus

heck... they promote 90 days if you buy with their CC... 30 for anything else.

to me that's good business..

nough said.

EDIT to add some links to all of you claiming how stupid a practice this is while trillionaires use it to make trillions:

Note these companies are often part of conglomerates which have uniform policies across all their stores. That means a store like Walmart might be called Tescos in the UK, but they are the same company and more often than not have the same general policies.

+1 all the way. Bump.
Everyone in the closed beta knew the pricing and items would be changing on open beta launch day, you chose to ignore that and spent your points, now you are upset that you didn't wait?
I bought 150+ stash tabs in CB.

Cant wait to see what happens next.

I understand your "anger" but come on man, think of all the time you have or will or could spend having fun playing a completely free game instead of obsessing about a 4$ sale you missed.

If you buy Oreos but then they go on sale the week after, will you complain to the grocery store?...

IMO, I don't think making a thread about their "Poor customer service, bad business" is honest not a good way to deal with it. I clicked on it wondering what could have gone wrong... Since they began interacting with the community, GGG has only been GREAT and honest about everything.
