Poor customer service, bad business

This is a serious accusation, and it seems you don't know what a good costumer server is. They responded you fast and politely, just because they can't do whatever you want it doesn't make them bad.
What would be in the future? So every time you buy something and suddenly they make a deal of such item for 1 day you will go complain? What would happen if they end up doing what you want? they have to do the same with everybody else and it will become a complaining mess.

If you want to blame someone blame yourself, they didn't pointed you with a gun to buy the stash tab during close beta. I personally knew that the possibility of such deals will come up and waited.
I was here thinking they gave free premium upgraded stash tabs to beta stash buyers. But if those bundles were more cost effective it kinda ruins the whole notion of giving something for beta supporters. I would expect you want to keep beta supporters feeling warm and fuzzy, even if means few $ loss.

But for refund itself i would guess is more troublesome and its nice to know their refund policy now. Even thou ive been positively suprised by fact that this small company provided videos of the most effects you can buy with micros (they still missing some, hopely all will be put to videos). As what i hate most is dig up through 3rd party sources for answers when theres money on the line.

OP, sorry but you are an idiot.

Have you ever seen anybody going to a store, asking for some money back on an item that they purchased a few days back and just got on discount? No? Then why should GG do that?

actually... I do this frequently... not for 2 ~ 5 $ ... but on items that go 20~30% off... I go back and ask for my money.

you have to realize here, that the OP is not complaining about 4$... that's chunk change.. he's complaining about the principle.

Canada has really strong consumer protection laws that prevent us from being gouged (well.. as much as possible) from retailers. Sometimes it's easy to forget that we are dealing with foreign companies.

Calling the OP stupid just shows the lack of understanding from where he comes from.

I noticed the same price diff last night, and I too was a little mift about it. I decided to just hold my breath in for the small amount of $ the effort would be worth to me.. but I'm glad the OP here posted and stood up for what he believes is right (in our neck of the world).

IT's a shame that our ways offend some of you to the point of calling him stupid...

Your ways are flat out 'wrong', that is why. What is the point of having sales in Canada if every person asks for the difference right when it goes on sale? Imagine if 'everyone' did this. It's cheap, it's wrong, it terrible business sense and you are cheating your economy. Canadians are so ass backwards sometimes it amazes me.

I agree. I get what the OP is saying, and I can understand his frustration...but this is FAR from what I think most people would consider 'poor customer service' and 'bad business'. In fact, that is one of the most respectful and informative customer service replies I've seen from a company, and their business policy is no returns, and they made that clear. Sorry to the OP that you feel slighted, but it isn't fair to insult a company because you're a little upset.

My thoughts.
A lot of fan-boy's defending PoE. Give a few months(maybe a year), and you'll probably be QQ'ing about something too. I hope in return you get the same treatment that you have showed the OP.

I agree with the OP, for the amount of support he's given the company just by going gold, they should have helped him with this trivial thing.

Not to mention it being a one week window. Not related in terms of games, but I know if this were HoN, LoL, GW2, or a few other online games, and it was done in a one week window, then things would have been made right by support.

example of a big retailer:

https://secure.sears.ca/content/customer-service/pricing/price-match-plus

heck... they promote 90 days if you buy with their CC... 30 for anything else.

to me that's good business..

nough said.

Thank you for supporting me. As you pointed I am not complaining about few bucks lost, it is only the principle.
People have lost the meaning of what Beta is. They see it as play earlier than other people but it's not. When you go into a Beta things are in flux, if you are not prepared for that or have the kind of personality that cannot accept these things and will see them as unfair, wait for the full release.

Been here, done that. Again, I've probably *lost*(if you can even call it that) just as much money as anyone due to the amount of stash tabs that I've bought prior to OB. I find it highly ironic that this is a debate of "principle" instead of "money"(rolls eyes) but yet the OP shows their frustration so much that they threaten to quit the game, insult a whole game company, and throw it on the forums for all to see. That's tacky.

It's easy to criticize someone about their "principles" and yet totally ignore your own.

True... tacky... but what other options are open to him? is it not the purpose of these forums to voice issues, concerns, happy and negative experiences in the hopes of change? GGG has responded to the masses for certain things in the past. If you try, the worst thing that can happen (technically) is getting told no. if you don't try... You get no chance of getting told yes...

p.s. I don't care about the extra sale items for now ... heck I spent more GGG coins last night, and still intend to keep spending/playing. but... At the same time, I'm still allowed to agree with the OP.

They received the response, the answer was no. So now they're trying to use the pressure of the community to start a witch-hunt to get their money back because they were unsatisfied with the response they received. It's a policy that's been put into place, just like reinstating someone's hardcore character after they've died due to DC or whatever.

When policies begin to bend from a company level, this only causes problems in the future. How many people would want their money back for every little dollar they didn't get to save when a deal goes on sale? That's a lot of manpower to have to deal with that kind of whining.
