Get rid of 1 Week Races

Dont compete in a 1 week race if you cannot dedicate the time you play

The questions are: *is a one-week-race intended to be played for up to full 168 hours of time? and *can it be prevented from poeple doing this to gain advantage against others that dont can/want to sacrifice that much time, can it be prevented without any restriction affecting even these people's choice of play? (like: possible to move a daily 'timeframe' to another day if you missed it on that day? or: do a long session on weekend instead of multiple short sessions over the week?) To me it seems there will always be a drawback on regulary players if you try to set a limit on playtime - limiting the general playtime per char (or even per account, at least as long you dont deny trading/partying) is no exception therein.

This is redicoulous. The reason they ALREADY have the shorter races is for people that don't have the free time to compete in the longer ones. These people are already taken care of they have plenty of opportunities. and as I said on the second page it is not anyone's responsibility but the players themselves to make sure they use healthy gaming habits. GGG is not responsible for other peoples actions amd should not change just because of what "might" happen. This whole thread is just a thinly vield attempt at some of the more casual players attempting to rig the game in thier favor under a pretense of "fairness". Luckily threads like this seldom accomplish anything.
READ CAREFULLY. Even @Nugiyen admitted, this was too much to handle.

This really was a team effort and everyone on it was a winner!

The race was much closer than we expected, and after 4 very unlucky pushes into the high lvl maps we weren't far enough ahead to chill on the last days.

I think getting lvl 20gems @ the start of 81 really told the tale.

But please please please, do not ever have these 1 week races so close to each other ever again

Suggestion: 8 hours limited per day with a closed team trading system. (i.e you can only trade within members of your group!) Wouldn't that be fun!

You are talking nonsense here, without even trying to understand the facts.

Best regards, Fary :)
GGG thank you for all the great things you are doing. You have combined every element of all other great Rpg's and joined them together as one Diamond, that will shine Forever.

This is coming straight from the heart <3

TL;DR

Don't know if anyone said this and if someone did I don't know why there is even a discussion anymore. But, I'm pretty sure the dev team said they want multiple races going on at the same times so you could have a one week race while still having multiple shorter racing going on at the same time. If you dont like long races dont do them. Now there is no problem, no QQing. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I'm correct.
RIP Diablo franchise

RIP Bird Lovers of Wraeclast <BLÔW>

Congrats Chris & others for cashing out! I don't blame you. I'll be saving money now... unless I start making a lot more. Can't wait to see if you guys start a new studio in six years! RIP GGG

No one forced him or anyone else to play the amount of time that they did.

Are you serious =_=, how else would he won the Demigod's amulet. Offc he was forced to push and why would you support something, that can cause serious health issues. Thta's why we are discussing it here.

Fair enough but he had to do what it took to win the race. If everyone behind him was going to play long hours with few breaks than he had to do similar. Even if the pace is brutal, someone who is committed to win has to do what it takes to win regardless.

I think alot of these problems could be fixed by having multiple mid-term races. Not just 3-4 1 week races going on the same time, but a 1 week open, 1 week solo (no trading/partying), 1 week guild (can only trade/party with people in the same guild but would require a guild system also probably like an A team, B team, etc type thing so a guild of 6 wasn't crushed by a guild of 600), 1 week time limited (league open hour x to hour y.

On that last note, why not have 4 races running the same time, all 4 only open 8 hours a day. This way no matter what area you are around the world you can find an 8 hour period to play in. People who want to go nuts can play in all 4 if they choose but generally people limiting themselves to one of the 4 will be fresher.

There's alot of different options but I think removing 1 week races totally is a bad idea. People enjoy them and just because they can be intense doesn't mean they should be removed.
Finished 17th in Rampage - Peaked at 11th
Finished 18th in Torment/Bloodline 1mo Race - peaked at 9th
Null's Inclination Build 2.1.0 - https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1559063
Summon Skeleton 1.3 - https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1219856
Horrible idea... if you don't like longer races then don't play in them, isn't that the reason there is a lot different type of races?

LOL wow really!! so he was forced into the race by some maniac with a gun to his head and made to play non stop. what is this world coming too!!

he played the way he did cause he wanted too, nothing less nothing more.

and IMO if some dumb-ass is going kill them selves by playing a video game and doesn't have the brains to say enough is enough, well then if its not the video playing that kills them then it will be some other stupid thing sooner then later.
so ya if anyone is going to be that much of a half witt then thank you for making the world a better place.

Agreed ^^ Ultimately it's the players choice to take part. They should be able to gauge for themselves how unhealthy or even dangerous it will be finish the race.

The intensity of the 1 week races will probably start to drop as more players take part in them and realize how brutal they are to win anyway...

As long as there are still shorter races available for regular players to take part in then imo nothing needs to change.

tl:dr

"i cant participate in a 1 week-race because i have no time / dont want to play that long so NOBODY else should because i cant, to hide my still obviously intention i bullshittalk something about internet deaths and say i just want your best"

just stop to tell other people what they should or shouldnt do, seriously, just stop it, if someone wants to play video games 16 hours a day for the rest of his life than its his business, not yours

and stop the shit about internetdeaths rofl, how many millions of people use the internet on a daily basis? and how many die? its so ridiculus someone came up with this

forbid cars, alcohol, cigarettes, forbid also people to go out when its cold outside because someone could just fall over and die

best thread ever, some random bobs and joes want to tell other people what they shouldnt do, this is comedy
