While we want to encourage new players to play on the appropriate server, we don't plan to shut down the GGG server located in Singapore because it's faster for some Western Australian/Japanese users and also very useful for the Singaporean players who want to stay on the server they've already paid money on.

Well that's mighty considerate of you to consider us players connecting from Japan, I can't imagine there being very many of us.

Doesn't really solve the issue of people playing on incompatible servers, but at least it's nice to know the Singapore server is here to stay.

Thank you so much for responding to this here Chris. I and a lot of your long term SEA players love this game which is why we have been so persistent in this thread. Please keep to your word. I love PoE and like ZiggyD I can see myself playing this game for many years to come.
Keep PoE2 Difficult.
Thanks Chris. That puts to rest any real (and paranoid concerns) I had expressed in the thread.

Some Garena players were very confused about our client having a Singapore server to select and were ending up on the wrong server. As you know, you can put "Singapore" in the box and it will work fine. I don't mean to nit-pick or anything, but I'm a bit concerned that the response specifically identifies that Australian and Japanese users being able to access the hidden "Singapore" gateway. It goes further to include "Singaporean players". What about other players in the region that utilize the hidden "Singapore" gateway? Will they still be able to access these servers indefinitely, or will they eventually be IP-blocked and diverted to Garena SG server?
The confusion seems like an execuse.

Why not rename SG server to Asia or else.

Or mention this "change" in some annouchment.

Without some official statement about this, no one can gurantee there won't be any other "change" of the SG gateway.

Am I pessimistic ... don't know.

Thanks, Chris.

Glad to see that there's finally an official reply to this thread. Please don't forget there are also players from countries like Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia who depend on the Singapore gateway to have a smooth experience.

Still, I don't like the fact that we have to type in "Singapore" manually, it makes me feel like a 2nd class citizen. Is it possible to change the gateway's name to Asia/SEA or something like that?

Thank you so much for the reply on this issue, it has put to rest the concerns of many players here who, for various reasons, want to continue playing on the main GGG "realm". My faith in GGG's support service has been restored :) my decision to support GGG wasnt a bad one it seems

Curious about this statement as i was under the impression that Garena had its own servers. The way you are talking makes it sound like this is not the case. It should not be an issue for people using Garena as it is in fact a seperate server. Only people logging into your own POE original server should have the option for Singapore ?

Or if in fact this is not the case and Garena shares your server then when will character transfer be offered ?

Its only money. May as well spend it here.
