so much ping spike on Singapore gateway.
btw, been playing for months and months, never experienced such 'consistent' ping spikes until lately (coincidentally with the Garena thingy ... oh well), and yap, don't think is my isp, cos a few others playing on the Singapore Gateway experienced the same issue.

fingers crossed, still.

That's interesting, cuz I have been experiencing some massive frequent consistent latency spikes, almost anytime of the day in the SG gateway. It's near impossible to play. Granted my internet is not the best, it is rather strange to hear many others experiencing the same. Could it be intentional or just coincidence?
Just chiming in here to say that I'm running on ST Fibre Broadband 200M (using Ethernet port direct connection, not wifi) and the Singapore gateway performance has been functioning smoothly as it had since Closed/Open betas and launch days. Ingame latency is at a constant 50ms with the occasional spike about once or twice every hour or so.

While the uncertainty of this region's handling hasn't given us the best answers, I'm trying to give an anecdotal experience from the other side of the connectivity spectrum (with no issues of note). Just making sure we aren't looking for some phantom bogeyman (Burn the Witch alive!) and considering to share our ISP network configs/setups if need be.

Another unhappy singaporean coming in to say hi and to see how long it takes for GGG to give an official statement, if at all.

On a side note... i'll be moving to blade n soul once it's out ( havent even played much poe recently, just wasting time on mobile android games) .. and i'm pretty sure that if SG gateway is removed we can all find a better game to migrate to anyway.

p.s : i dont mind a non-sg server, i mean i played d2 d3 on uswest and thrived in hardcore even at 200-500+ ping. the thing is i KNEW what to expect when i joined a non-sg server, but when i quit D3 for POE, it was mainly due to the fact that they had a dedicated SG server. n if i'm forced to play on garena now which i hated since dota/l4d days... then that
s the end of POE for me because that was NOT what i signed up for.

Paying VERY well, just let me know if u have upgrades for me
Of course, still no official statement. =/ Hopefully there is something on Wednesday's patch notes.

I am assuming they are just waiting this thread to die out on itself, just like the reddit thread.

Hah, fat chance. Not until i get an official statement.

Took a few weeks off to focus on rl, came back to find no Singapore server option, came to this thread, found I can still go on Singapore server by typing it, but when I log in to try it's gone from being relatively stable to completely unplayable.

Very sad, hope it gets sorted out (along with my item which has yet to be implemented afaik).

Thanks for sharing this information. I wasn't really suspecting anything strange, but couldn't help feel a bit suspicious seeing others experiencing sudden latency changes. I feel more at ease with your input.
I have this grim suspicion sometime down the line we're going to see an update from Chris saying something along the lines of "Sorry guys, we were backed into a corner with our Garena contract, there's nothing we can do"

Some Garena players were very confused about our client having a Singapore server to select and were ending up on the wrong server. As you know, you can put "Singapore" in the box and it will work fine. While we want to encourage new players to play on the appropriate server, we don't plan to shut down the GGG server located in Singapore because it's faster for some Western Australian/Japanese users and also very useful for the Singaporean players who want to stay on the server they've already paid money on.
