Scrotie wants YOU to help prevent PoE's economy from becoming more like D3's
Every online game I've played, whether by the creators or a 3rd party a price sheet/trading site has popped up. And I think that's wonderful.
Sorry, but my idea of "fun" isn't searching through pages and pages of forum trades to find the one equip with the exact stats I need. Why would I want to spend hours doing that when I can just input the numbers into a spreadsheet and, if something pops up, go and add the person and haggle out a price? I find the barter centered players refusal to recocgnize a play centered players need to quickly find the fair trade value of an item disgusting.
To further suggest that this obfuscation benefits the game is a deep corruption of logic. |

Not only are you completely wrong [see Diablo2 and d2jsp] but you are among the 99% that wouldn't want more search options for items.
The whole argument is pretty retarded anyway. You can search for buyouts using the forums search function without having to rely on 3rd party websites. P.S. How does it feel being so hipster? Last edited by czulki#2884 on Nov 10, 2013, 10:52:06 PM

Barter refers to exchanging good/services for goods/services, of course there can be third parties with listed buyouts, it doesn't change the fact that you have to exchange goods directly unlike an auction house where you just list your item and anon439646 buys it.
If someone says he wants this amount of crafting material x for item y or if he lists it on a site does only affect one aspect: time. Without xyz there would be way more room for scumbagging and ripping off players who don't spend their time in trade chat and trade forums. +1 for xyz -1 for OP |

i ignore ppl that post buyouts then when u get there its variable...other day i searched something and it had a set buyout rate with hidden tiny text that it was just the base buyout. i spent the time to whisper the asshat and quickly ignored him.

" I agree that is lame, if I don't sell for b/o then it sells for lower, as in, their offer. Still your post helps back up the fact that b/o is not set in stone for many people. Anarchy/Onslaught T shirt

In my experience, buyouts do not save time as many people like to claim: "I like buyouts because I can quickly see a price, conduct my trade, and get back to the game."
Way back when "b/o" didn't exist in PoE's collective vocabulary, I would offer and receive offers for item-to-item trades just as often as I would for orbs. Back then, I could trade my triple damage roll ring for somebody else's dual resist ring with life and mana. Currently, my ring might be worth 1 ex (just assume) while theirs only 5 chaos. Currently. Then, that was largely irrelevant, because the rings had inherent value beyond their value to "the bank." Nobody was scammed, we both benefited, because we both received something we needed at the cost of something we didn't need. Now, currently, put yourself on the other end of that bargain. I could indeed use that ring of yours, but it's the most valuable thing in your possession. Why barter for yours when I can sell mine to somebody else, buy yours, and still make profit. I benefit, while you still do not have enough to purchase that ring you need. All thanks to the price tagged gold standard economy. Tough luck, back to grinding, maybe next time you'll find a rare worth more than 5 chaos, otherwise you'll be doing it quite a few more times. That's the compromise. " So I guess you avoid shopping in real life too because everything has a buyout and that's not trading. :) And more thing: Your OP is about xyz trying to obtain itemlevel on forums, yet, all you talk about is buyout. Completely different things. What do you care if itemlevel is introduced to indexing? Buyout is already there. As for buyout itself, feel free not to use it. No one is forcing you to. Don't go around trying to spoil it for the others (wast majority!), it's not nice of you. Also, buyouts can be a drawback if they are too big no one will even open the link. My personal opinion: we need more people selling more stuff with buyouts. Prices gone stupid. At one point finding exalted orb meant you could buy a decent item, today you can barley buy 30ms boots with shit rolls, same boots you would vendor a year ago. And also, starting in a new league is not starting in a fresh economy. It's starting in economy based on preconceived notions from shitty economy. Ass long as there is no item sink, there will be no healthy economy, it will just get worse with ending of each new league. btw, it's RMT in AH that "destroyed" D3 (it really didn't, there are more people playing D3 than PoE. I am not one of them thou.), and no one here want's RMT in PoE so I don't see the issue. What I think I see here is you being jelly that it is not you who made indexer before xyz. Not saying you are, just saying that it looks like that to me. peace. "Path of Exile be a online Action RPG set up in tha dark fantasy ghetto of Wraeclast.
