Scrotie wants YOU to help prevent PoE's economy from becoming more like D3's

Its like some of you think that people on high levels log in just to stay in town, waiting for someone to pm them so they can haggle. There are people who want to do maps, you know, endgame stuff, so they dont have time to haggle with you. And then there are people like Panko who spend hours spamming trade chat with overpricing items.

I find it insane to think that someone would rather spend hours going over trade chat and forum to find a upgrade. With that site you can buy upgrades in few minutes and do what we are all here to do, play the freaking game.
I hate trading, not only in this game, but in all games. In this game, its even worse than in all other games I ever played, and xyz makes it easier and less painful to trade. So the extremely few times that I actually want to buy something, I do it there to get it over with fast. I'm 98% self-found though, which is more fun anyway. Guess I have to thank you for pointing me towards his thread so I can upvote it.

A clear overview of market prices favors fair trading and is actually healthy for the economy. An obfuscated, hidden system, where value is unknown, only favors scammers, item flippers and other shady stuff that actaully hurts the economy...

3rd party indexer sites are the best thing in this awful PoE "trading" system.

This is quite possibly the first the the majority of the community has agreed on something instead of descending into a flamewar :D
Dear GGG, please make Mac version
I'm sticking to xyz till GGG introduces a reasonable system, so I have no need in a 3rd party web-site.

Trade-chat has become a chaos after release, even on Nemesis, where in Onslaught it used to be tolerable. It's impossible to stay in /trade 1-5+- without getting headache..

Trade-sub-forums? Shop-sub-forums? Well, have fun browsing through dozens of useless non-indexed threads.

I am also completely against poe.xyz but for the direct opposite reason!

PoE should have ingame convenient trade system without needing 3rd parties. Things that are needed are:

1. remove need for meeting in the same instance for trade. Just let me trade with anyone in my party regardless of where we are.

2. make an ingame search for onsale items UI (probably as a part of message boards)

3. allow offline trading for b/o sales.
This is a good site and only supports trading. A market is more healthy when there are more offers and more information is available.
I doubt that the change would make the market become more susceptive to RMT. If there is demand, RMT will always exist. People want to buy only the best stuff anyway, Kaoms, Shavs, Exalts etc.
Item level is relatively harmless compared to that.

And btw, the eco is broken anyway. RPGs are totally vulnerable to automated play like bots. Ever wondered why there are so many exalts? Yes, because they are botted in normal. On the other hand that's one of the best feelings you could get in this game, finding a mirror in normal twilight. I would lmao ;)

I don't blame you for this. GGG should have had such a system up... months ago, really. But that doesn't mean we need to make the third-party option more powerful.

In any case, it's obviously what the majority wants here: the wrong thing. You'd think that after D3's debacle with auction houses people would learn from their mistakes, but instead they're looking for a reasons why searchable buyouts are still okay, this time it's different. Well of course there are differences, but the core principle remains the same. This isn't good for the health of the game — regardless of how popular it is.

Thank god GGG isn't a democracy.

I'm not against buyouts (nor am I against haggling), but I am against automating processes that make the game more of a min/max math problem.

IMO - third party automation of the trade process is like having a program that constantly analyzes your player, items and skill tree and tells you what area you should be playing in for XP or item farming.

A big part of the game is visceral. The outrage of "Offer" when trading is balanced by courteous players who talk back and forth to agree on a trade price. I've found good players to map with because both of us treated each other with respect in trading.

I'm not saying trade is ideal by any means, but the more GGG can keep players involved, and the less using third-party programs, the better.
