Scrotie wants YOU to help prevent PoE's economy from becoming more like D3's

dont shoot the messenger
Dear GGG, please make Mac version
Wait are you telling us YOU want more people to RMT
Stop with the bath salts.

Get rid of xyz? So give another advantage to the people without jobs who can watch trade allday? Fuck everyone else over a little more? NTY.

Anarchy/Onslaught T shirt
Domination/Nemesis T shirt
Tempest/War Bands T shirt
Those sites are the only reason its really possible to trade at all atm. Or at least with any speed whatsoever.

That said, its not like you cant just find the itemlevel from an ingame link so I dont see why it really matters..
IGN
poe.xyz is why I enjoy trading. At least I can set-up fair prices and not being priced gouged by other traders.

yea fuck those liberal scumbags, trying to make us vote ourselves out of a job.
My two cents- which was valued as such at poe.xyz.

I understand wanting to retain the haggling aspect of this game. I do like haggling. Kind of. When both parties are aware of the value of whatever item, haggling is easy. When one party is clueless, haggling becomes an exercise in frustration. Or immature insults, depending on the parties involved.

Haggling was also encouraged not only for an item to orb exchange, but in the absence of having orbs, a gear for gear trade. Don't have the googleplex of exalts for that item you want? Offer up some of your gear as well. This doesn't happen, though. In a perfect world, I
would want this aspect to shine through. But the reality is, people don't want to spend more than a minute or two getting what they want. Haggling takes finesse and knowledge. Most people, unfortunately, don't care enough to do either.

I think poe.xyz SHOULD exist for the people who are turned off by the trading aspect of this game. Lets face it- trading is far from what people want it to be, the devs included. Having a baseline value for things (which is what I use the site for) is a step in the right direction. It gives people knowledge of what items are worth, and as such, can go into a trade with an understanding of what they want to pay. And THEN you can haggle.

Until GGG comes up with something to appease both the people who want to haggle and the people who don't, sites like this are actually making MORE people become involved with the economy, not less.
All the things I want to remember are in the places I'd like to forget.

Too bad the thread has been polluted by AH3 players.

Sorry, but you're wrong. XYZ allows people to determine an average price by filtering what you're looking for. Lurking Trade chat for 3 months isn't something I'd consider time-worthy. If I had it my way I'd use EVE's market system where a ton of information is available to players, and that game is well known for scams. You can look at the history of prices for any item and determine how or why something has changed in price. In PoE (or any other game really) there is no history of prices. There is no method in determining if you (a new player) are getting ripped off by someone.

For the longest time I refused to do any trading in this game until I had a good grasp on the economy and general idea of what combination of affixes on rares were worth anything. During that period of time I did not participate in this "economy" because I avoid being scammed. This is a problem for the game.

Pretty much this.

poe.xyz.is gives users the chance to get on one level of information about the market. More experienced users of the in-game economy still are more conscious about ways to manipulate it but with the indexer the normal player/not-dedicated-trader has the chance to grasp common prices in a reasonable amount of time.

There is no way to control the economy in destroying the tools of the participants. It would give GGG only more time but why care if Legacy League economy isn't that important anyway in the big picture?

THIS thread makes YOU support xyz's thread. :) Funny when you think about it.

I disagree with almost everything OP says.. Have you even tried trading in this game? People don't even reply anymore these days. The moment you ask something, or offer, or mention a price. They just go silent, totally silent. Like a big 'fuck you why don't you sell me your Kaom's for 1 scroll fragment you greedy prick'. Anything but the most insane price is 'lowball'.

At least with xyz I don't have to look through endless walls of garbage items posted on the forums constantly being bumped to the top. Not to mention I can actually sell my stuff now because on the forum nobody will see it. All I have to do is enter the stats I want, press a button, find his IGN and bam within minutes I can have the item that's perfectly suited for me.. No endless hours wasted looking through walls of shit items.
