I think PoE is running out of time. Here's why:

Bot d3 for cash, play POE all day

Sigged.

And I've seen a lot of bots. It's just scripting, if-then stuff. Sure, you can pile a lot of scripting together, and a bot may be able to repeatedly do the same area without trouble, but to further the WoW example, you're not going to be able to bot high-level raids. All the bots I've ever heard of are for gold.

And there is no gold in PoE.

Apparently you don't realized that botters can run multiple bots in one game in party mode. Yes, its difficult for one bot alone to clear high level mobs, but add in the max number of bots a party can handle and it's a different matter. IMO, no game is unbottable. Botters will find a way. Ideally, a detterent (such as a $60 price tag) should be a must have to minimize the botters. There will be no way to completely eliminate them.

Oh my God. Some people will play PoE and some D3. There is so many simillar games and every of them has as many players as they need (in majority) Personaly, I'll play PoE not D3.

See, but there really isn't. Some might say Diablo 2 was the last REALLY good crawler, and that was released about a decade ago. From the way it looks PoE might fill that gap, albeit temporarily, until Diablo becomes available.

Some of you say it's filling a niche...well, maybe it is. I certainly hope so, otherwise it's going to take a serious hit when Diablo comes out.

If path of exile torchlight 2 and diablo3 are all released on the same day I think torchlight 2 will be the one hurting the most

diablo3 would probably come out on top at first but I think it'll quickly lose players

path of exile isn't perfect by any means but the devs actually care about the player base and that alone will get them popularity plus being a high quality indie game studio is bound to get them a lot of attention

3-5 years from now I think path of exile will be on top of the action rpg genre

This coming from someone who obviously doesn't take the time to know the devs. Torchlight would not be hurting at all. 19$ for a full fledged game? That alone will bring TONS of customers compared to the Pay 2 Win version of Diablo 3. As for PoE. I can't say exactly where they will be when everything starts releasing but they won't be on top. They are already hurting due to their choice on how to go about beta. How many of the people do you really think will stick around when just 1 game releases. People that have gone from being a fan in excitement to see what this game is all about to, I am sick of waiting and see people that don't log on or post get randomly chosen over the people who are here NOW and waiting and checking everyday.
I think they have very much time ... let D3 start and after a while usually ppl start looking for games of the same genre but with other weightings in gameplay/gfx-style/pvp etc.
And now look what is coming beside PoE ... not very much :)

About D3 and pay to win:
I can´t see how this RLM-AH does change a bit beside blizz will make money with it.
In D2 you could buy every shit on ebay or whereever.
In WoW you can buy your Gladiator title, ILevel 391 loot and maxxed toons.
In Many f2p games you buy your immortality with +50% armor +50% attackspeed +50% damage (all stacking).
So how is D3 pay to win ?
If you play 2 hours a week maybe you will benefit that much from buying on the AH but if you are a dedicated gamer with enough time to spend and some friends you will close the gap to those buyers very fast.
My only fear for this AH is that it will attract ppl in don´t want to play with while on the other side it will make others leave that would have been nice to play with. A magnet for the wrong type of players ;)

I'll do you one better, Observe. Just think about how many people are going to pirate Torchlight 2?

It's mostly a single player game anyways, might be cracked in a matter of days after release.
You won't be missed if you leave for D3 only because it's Blizz... ahem, Activision-Blizzard which by far has shown it's not going back to it's glory days.

I'll stay here for the great features this game offers that you won't see on D3 or Torchlight 2.
What features are those? Maybe you have a deeper understanding of the game than I do, but people should know... I discovered PoE off a forum where one of the devs had posted some content. The RESOUNDING majority of people there said things along the lines of "It's a Diablo clone". Even if PoE does differentiate itself somehow from Diablo, there's a large group of folks who won't realize it. Best bet to get them in to see those features is to beat Diablo to the finish line.

@"The RESOUNDING majority of people there said things along the lines of "It's a Diablo clone""
TL;DR version: haters gonna hate.

Long version:
People who doesn't even take the time to check the left side of the site won't certainly be missed. I think you expected me to list what features differentiate it from D3 but I don't need to, it's far better organized on the dev diary and beta manifesto.

You will have pirates no matter what game comes out so you might as well not even factor them in. The difference is that when you got more than 1 person in your household, say 3 in my case that we all game together. The difference is 60$ for 3 people to game rather then 180$. That is the case for LARGE amount of people.
Even if D3 want never announced, this game would have the same chance of survival. why you ask? because its a Free to play game that has alot of uniquie fetures.

One question i do have is what is the end game going to be like? D3 announced that they will have their hardest level yet which groups are needed in order to complete. I hope PoE does something of the same.
