Manually trading with people is great fun!

Or that the seller do not respond to the offer ( http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/373074/page/9 )

I must admit I find that rude when I see someone bidding and all the seller can do is type 'up'.
i love the moronic kids in this game who are unable to negotiate in a mature manner, for example if i do not know the precise price of an item, i ask them what they want, they refuse to say and all they say is 'make an offer', so i do, and they in turn do not reply
...geniouses...
Half the problem is people have a super hard time trying to figure out what an item is worth

Half the problem is the majority of players are overly greedy. Instead of always trying to swindle people for an above average price just settle for what the average rate is and move along.

I view the above scenery as a complete waste of time. Even if the trade went through it wasn't really worth the time. 1 alch or 1 chaos to go through all of the talking, negotiating, meeting for a chance to have THAT happen? Ya, no.

Make a system that lists up to 4~ or so different buyout prices for items that you list.

Example:

Good rare gloves with double-elemental dmg and life.

Price A: 5 EXs
Price B: 2 EXs 6 Divines
Price C: 10 Divines
Price D: 120 Chaos

This way you don't have to worry about the lack of "base currency" or conversions. Just set a variety of prices you will accept and anyone with either combinations can buyout the item immediately. No minimum price bullshit either.

The only problem is that you will not be able to fit every combination of "equivalent" trades, but if you really want to you can PM the seller and ask if s/he will accept your equivalent offer.

Great stories, ahhh the joys of manual trading! Why would I want to have an automated trade shop where I could just set prices and lower them until my goods sell and then buy from stores with set prices quickly....when I could instead enjoy all of these great experiences shared by our lovely family of posters!

Keep the good time rollin' chaps!

Perhaps people defend trading since for some it's the closest they come to a RL person in a week and they think it's great for socialising?

Or maybe we have this, coz most of the defenders of faith...um, of trade system, can only compare this with D3 AH (oh noes noes the devil himself made that AH), like it's the only trading system around.

But yeah...besides amusing (and somewhat disturbing) stories how people insult each other or are generally being retarded I'm hard pressed to think of something else positive about the prehistoric trading system.

I want a system like this too.
I've made a few trades in the game, the couple from posting on the forum and some nice person taking pity on me were successful. Most of my trades are just orbs, which are quick and easy. Everyone knows what the ratio is, everyone's happy.

Every single time
I have tried to buy a piece of gear from someone in trade chat, however, I leave with no gear and a bad taste in my mouth. It always goes like this:

ME: How much do you want for X?
Seller: Make an offer
ME: I don't know what it's worth, 1 ex?
Seller: ...........

Or

Seller: LOL GET LOST NOOB

I'll be happy to see what GGG has in mind regarding a trading platform... Because this is simply going to drive people away from the game. Is there a single new person that has tried to trade via chat that hasn't left with a bitter, negative feeling about the community? I'd like to know...
