Auction house Yes/No?

" Haha I was actually going to say in my reply that clever people would think I made that post on an alt. |

" Yes they were, I'm glad you agree. " That's your opinion, spamming trade isn't the main source of item trading in this game anyway. If you want serious interest, serious offers then the forums is where you want to go with an item. Trade chat has it's benefits, with the potential of a quicker transaction. The problem is many people have come from auction house games and don't understand how to trade, how to negotiate, or what items makes sense to sell, what makes sense to keep, etc. Instead of players willing to adapt, they'd rather have the easy out of an auction house " D2:LOD is arguably the best ARPG of all time, and didn't have an auction house. Give me one example of an ARPG that used an auction house and even comes close to the success of D2:LOD. Last edited by Nolimitation#3131 on Aug 13, 2013, 7:07:51 PM

" Thats a loaded statement because the only other online arpg that was really successful was d1 and that was a hack fest. I spend hours to grind up my currency, then have to spend hours grinding trade channel. The forums are even more time consuming because of how long it can take to get replys just to realize the seller can not be reched/is asking too much/is a jackass etc. I think you are blowing things out of porportion in your own mind as to the effect this will have on the game. All it would do it turn the currency people have into the item they want faster. It does not have to be an auction system with buyout buttons or whatever, I am 100% sure that ggg could make the system work like dozens of other online item based games have done. |

No, that would ruin the game.

" LOL, I can almost hear Chris now... "That's not true. It adds community and player tension." I don't trade. I don't group. My comments reflect that.

I only ever hear 3 pathetic reasons as to why a market system would "ruin the game"
-Durr because d3 has one so it must be bad!!! D3 is bad because of core game flaws not because of some tacked on trading system. -Because trade chat is a social experience Anyone who thinks the spammed up trade chat system and dealing with a typical buyer/seller who speaks like a caveman is a positive social experience has problems. -Because if people could get the items they want fast it would ruin progression Progression should not be gated by having to spend hours sifting through trade channels or spending days waiting for forum replys. That is what item drop rarity is for. |

" You still haven't answered my question. D3 is a very great example of why an AH just rips apart an item based game. Go talk to the thousands upon thousand of D3 players that quit after just playing D3 for a few months because D3 turned into Auction House Simulator 3. |

Just so you guys know, GGG explicitly stated that they will not, ever, have an AH. Just so you know, because I don't think the topic should keep dragging on forever...
