Auction house Yes/No?
" Trading is required in this game, because everything else (drop rates, endgame, crafting...) is balanced around a global economy and thus trading. You might enjoy it, but I hate it becaue its a waste of gameplay time. If I wanted to "trade" (this half-assed chat spam bartering cant even be called that), then I would go playing some taycoon game, not an ARPG. When night falls

" So you hate it, I enjoy it. Some people enjoy it, some people hate it. So who should GGG ultimately support, your or me? The answer is what's best for the game, not for you. A game without an auction house is best for the game. It's best for the economy, it's best for deterring bots, and it's best for keeping the excitement of finding loot a part of the game. " *grumble* I wish people would stop talking about "what's best for the economy" or "the economy being broken" or so on. By what metric are you judging how "good" the economy is? An AH may or may not be bad for the game, but people would almost certainly be sporting better gear if an AH immediately surfaced, so it's hard to say it's bad for the economy. IGN: SplitEpimorphism

Your first mistake was calling it auction house in this thread. Notice how half the replies talk about d3? people are very insecure about d3 in this game and anything they can relate to it are instantly nixed. If you want support for a more modern trading system call it market or something like most other games do.

" I don't give a rats behind what anyone calls it, you're not getting an automated system with a buyout button. Period, end of story, go play Diablo 3 you're obviously in love with that fail of a game. |

" Actually I have never played d3 and you proved my point so perfectly with your post. EDIT: Tons of other games have automated trading systems that don't involve the player having to manually spamm some chat channel or area (or read the spamm for hours on end) and if you think some automated trade system is the reason why d3 sucks then you have something wrong with your head. " Doesn't matter if you're played it or not. D3 is the most recent and perfect example we have to why an auction house ruins an item based game. Too much efficiency in any area of the game ruins the rewards. Would anyone play this game if going from level 1 to 100 in 5 minutes? Would Anyone play this game if getting the best gear took 5 minutes? The answer is no, because both of these aspects are pivotal in the re playability and reward system. |

" Wow perfectly reasonable examples. Being forced to spamm trade channels for hours on end is archaic and adds nothing to the game. Tons of other good games use a market system well. |
