On contrary. Why should they compete with themselves? PoE2 is not meant to take players away from PoE1. They dont want the same game but shinier. It is a good thing. PoE2 is not here to replace PoE1.
Except that it did took away. Except that they do compete with themself (no new league cause people might not pick new entry). Except that it was initially promised to be same but shiner. And it looks like poe2 will replace first game if poe1 is not moving to a new engine.

If the one death per map nonsense isn't removed then the game is DOA for me on release. EA is the only reason I'm tolerating it but I am already so exhausted with the game in T15s.

If they dont listen to their long supporting player base that would be a very bad business decision. To abandon your base in HOPES of acquiring a different base without the marketing budget of Blizzard? That's a very sketchy business direction.

Do you really think POE 1 vets are going to want to continue to fund a game that is "not for them", because for the last probably six years or longer the money players were spending on POE 1 was not being invested into make POE 1 a better game instead it was going to fund the development of POE 2. POE 1 has missed leagues because of POE 2 along with who knows what other features if the money had gone to POE 1's development instead.

So what’s your complaint here OP? I’m not sure I understand.
Is the game too hard?
Campaign too long?
Something else?
Personally, I thought act 1-3 was absolutely amazing. Loved every minute of it. Obviously repeating it on cruel was somewhat boring, but that won’t be the case on launch. I’m really excited to see what act 4-6 brings and I think redoing the campaign every ~3 months will be a hell of a lot more fun than PoE 1’s snoozefest of a campaign was.
In my opinion, the difficulty is fine. The game’s biggest issue is the complete lack of rewarding loot / crafting. I’m level 84 and I have not gotten a single divine orb. Nor have I gotten a single greater jeweler’s orb. I’m still using the same 4L skills I had at level 25 in tier 15 maps. It feels like shit.
Keep the difficulty, increase the rewards. That’s my take.

Me? I have never been banned from this game.
So you're a veteran player who joined in settlers has never once gotten close to completing any league achievements or killed any end-game boss...... sure buddy
1. I dont need to justify myself to you.
2. I have played 2 accounts and gotten friends, kids and so on into the game.
3. I have purchased nearly $1200 in MTX including liberator of wraeclast supporter pack and not counting gifts to kids and friends I have given.
4. You are still crap posting attacking people.
5. And this is the best one ... thanks for continually bumping my thread so that POE community people will see it.
:)
Edit that the forum quoted wrong post.

Yes it is. POE1 devs going to POE2. POE1 losing league content, other resources. POE1 microtransactions available in POE2 and vice versa. Of course it is built to be a successor and its not competing with themselves. Its the same reason Blizzard puts out Diablo 3 and then 4 and some day 5. They bring back their core players and attract new players. POE has to do this every league. Your assessment of this being a whole new game for a different player base is, empirically, FALSE.
Idk why is so hard to get people to understand that PoE1 is looking like it's on its way out from so much context over the last few years.
Also as a software developer, simultaneously developing multiple products with one team is somewhere between extremely hard and impossible.
But the PoE2 enjoyers have consistently actively ignored this context every time it's been provided while they tell us to go back to 1.

veteran player who joined in 2019 only has 2 chars in settler league and only ever kill infinite hunger of any end-game boss, never even killed uber atziri not a single breechlord..... sure buddy I've been playing since open beta. I pretty much stopped poe with ritual before you even started playing it. Maybe you've have been playing longer your account was just banned cause you act like an asshat on the forums.
And as a player who first started in Warbands League, then played on-and-off around Prophecy and really started engaging with every single league from Essence onwards, I can tell you that the future of PoE 2 as a seasonal live-service f2p game looks grim right now.
PoE 2 itself isn't horrible if you look at it as a singleplayer game that you buy once, play once through the campaign and then forget about. But that isn't what the game is trying to be, that isn't the business model the devs are going for. And people who have put thousands of hours into PoE 1 can see that the game in its current state has many problems that may not be apparent to every player. That's all.
You need to compare it to poe when it was in closed beta you joined with version 2.0 of poe almost 2 years after the game had fully released on it's 6th league

You're a veteran of following build guides from your favorite youtuber that you don't understand and quitting at level 86 when things start to get challenging.

I am a single father of 3 and VP of engineering with an insane schedule. I am not an "elite" gamer. I dont watch youtube build guides very much except maybe to see some ideas. I play SSF 90% of the time (Solo Self Found meaning you cant trade or group for all you newbies). I have also played Hardcore and Ruthless a lot which there are few if any build guides for. I do my own thing. And you continue your history of just trying to insult people whom you do not actually know rather than offer any meaningful content.

Well instead of posting hundreds of 'poe veteran sounding the alarm' threads you go take care of your kids or you know actually become better at the game so you don't have so many things to whine about.
