The Palpable and Uninformed Hate and Dismissal of POE1 Veterans Sounding the Alarm is Worrying

Ahhh in that case you're right.

I love most of the changes. I dislike the difficulty and extremely slow pace. If they got rid of full zone respawn on death I would like this game WAY more.

I too, like a lot of the game. The combat is definitely a huge improvement. So are bosses

But I realize that this game lacks, in a lot of area's. That make it a fun experience for people, rather than a tedious one.

Loot needs to be fixed. The reason Crafting was in the old game, was because the loot was terrible. You HAD to find a base item, you HAD to craft to get gear. Because it never dropped.

I have seen so many people quit PoE 1 over the years because of the crafting system. The trading system, the crappy loot. The small inventory annoys almost every single one of my friends. The inability to change the UI layout. Text size. The sheer amount of crap that the game drops, that requires you to get a loot filter for because of 12 years of bloated leagues adding items to it.

I also think the way they've done the skill gems is just dumb. Convoluted. And believe a spell book, and buying skills to be a far more streamlined solution.

The combat also needs to be worked on. They want us to use different spells, but there's no flow, or fluidity to it. It's clunky. Nothing builds off of the last spell. Nothing actually combo's like y ou'd see in a fighting game. It's just PoE. The forced spell diversity by limiting support gems is awful. There's better solutions to this.

I'm hoping they address some of that. But the difficulty change shouldn't require much work.
Every 3rd goddamn post... I don't like souls games... it's a soulslike... souls gameplay

IT'S NOT A SOULSLIKE

Checkpoints

Refilling potions

Mob size

No parry

Skill focus

Much too easy in comparison

etc etc

It's just an arpg with dodge and enemy attacks that can be manually dodged, exactly like most (or all) arpgs that were made past decade

Bosses require 100x less precision and are much more beatable by numerical stuff

I don't know how to put it nice, but if you think this is like Dark Souls, you are really bad at manual part of gaming

To be honest. The reason the game is difficult, is more to do with the fact that the combat is so bad feeling. If they do some of the changes I suggest. It will likely help quite a bit.

There are definitely some bosses, and overtuned enemies that need a bit of a nerf. Certain things need buffs too, but a large part of it, is just that the combat is clunky. It feels like they just added in a dodge roll and called it a day. But games like darksouls have a flow to the combat that this game doesn't have due to long animations, and low spell cohesiveness. The only reason we use other spells is because we're being forced to. Not because a lot of them are particularly good, or fun to use.

If they remove the one shots the game is gonna feel 100% better.. I guarantee it.

Or make the portals more than 1 time use... that's all i'm asking for.

You know before if you died too many times on a map it would brick your atlas and you had to restart. They already walked that back. lol I couldn't imagine the hissy fit people would be throwing if that was still in the game.

Like seriously one death on a map isn't that big of a deal. Just do another map. It's not the end of the world like you people are making it out to be.

It is closer to a souls game than an arpg.

It's not the death that is the issue... is the punishment and what it entails.. I don't want to spend 4 hours to die one fucking time to something random RANDOM 1 shot from a rare and lose those 4 hours of EXP cause that's what happens once you're level 90+

and yah don't worry i'm defensive layers handle T17s they just don't handle random 1 shots.
as someone who has been in digital marketing for over 13 years, i want to point out that there are services offering "positive reviews" for as little as 1$ per review. i'm not saying that the flood of ggg ass-lickers are paid shills, i'm just saying that it's possibly all just white noise.

hard agree with OP by the way.
