The Palpable and Uninformed Hate and Dismissal of POE1 Veterans Sounding the Alarm is Worrying

"
For context on the trend that the GGG noobs have blinders to when extoling the dubious virtues of the game. POE 2 has dropped more players in 2 weeks than quite a few PoE1 leagues had for a peak.

Really? We are comming up on a 3rd weekend here and it was 500k+ for two weeks in a row?

Which league are you referring to when you say this?

What's all the fuzz about? People demand campaign skips? Not happening, it's not D4. Removing honor from Sekhema? Not happening since it's central to mechanics.

"We wanted PoE2" they say while expecting it to be something they jump in and destroy first try? What's the point of such a "sequel"? PoE 2 is different in many aspects, requires you to learn to get good at. But some self-proclaimed veterans got reality checked. They're bad at the game and think GGG gotta make them feel good about themselves somehow. Maybe you should challenge yourself instead of crying?

So much drama. Especially funny to see it from grown men. :D

lol daaaamn. I agree with you. POE 1 'vets' getting skill checked and raging on the forums demanding the game be changed is pretty funny.

3 kids, wife passed away, full time career as VP of Engineering. But I dont watch TV and I play POE mostly for gaming and have 3.5k hours in the game as well as $1200.

Thanks for the bump though.

You know, all things considered, PoE is a really cheap hobby. I've seen folks throw 10x that amount at stock cars and legos. Don't even get me started on wargaming. (Lookin at you Warhammer)

Thats sad about the wife though.

Indeed its fairly cheap. A movie costs me $50 to take everyone to. Thanks for the condolences, its been a couple years though. She had ALS.
+1

minimum 6000 hrs into poe 1 and I can confirm with all personal honesty that this game is headed in a really bad direction right now.

too much bot and third party influence, reintroduction of unpopular mechanics for ascendancy trials, terrible trade market/ economy balance. skill gems not leveling with you but are only levelled when advancing to higher tier locations/ maps is a downside imo. I think that selecting the attribute points you want on the skill tree is great but the attribute requirements on skill, support and spirit gems feels a bit inflated.

Game as it is currently, I actually feel bad for recommending it to some of my friends because they are going to come into this game and it's basically going to be like an Self found journey with no community interaction and play because everything on poe.trade is not going to be trade-able since seemingly all other currency aside from high end Divs etc are worthless.

I understand this is an early access however given the previous delay of the game and the length of its development it feels extremely disappointing that so much of this game feels ruined before it even got started/ released officially.

Agreed. I liken this to Ritual 3.13 where people were given a taste of power and now they think its standard requirement of play.

POE1 was just this long drawn out version of it, and some vets think POE2 should be all this crazy power and fast paced crap that POE1 has.

The devs needed to start with something fresh to not make that same mistake again. And they are nailing it with POE2

And thank you for your feedback have a good day!

I've got some bad news. Archmage builds that oneshot all endgame bosses by doing a 137-mil hit in a 4-man group with upscaled enemy hp already exist. With 9k mana, which is their effective life pool because of Mind over Matter, while having CI allocated so they're also immune to chaos damage. Running around with 1/1 hp and 9000 mana just to flex. That's just one build that has been found 2 weeks into EA. Now try to imagine how much people will break this game in half when all the classes, ascendancies, weapon types and gems are out. It's impossible to balance it all, if the game is already so solved at this point. The meta is glass-cannon builds, because why fight the boss when you can quite literally one-shot it without seeing its hp bar move? While also having Spark for mapping that clears more than your whole screen. Again, I am only describing 1 build atm.

And if by some strange twist of fate GGG decides to nerf every powerful build as it gets discovered then this is a dead on arrival game.
Not only does he ignore those of us who have been playing Poe for years, he ignores our complaints. I have been playing for at least 3 years, I love Poe, since Legacy League. But that love is not reciprocated and they treat me badly.

I think they have included me in a “black” list that silences me for months for any stupid report without reality. Adding to other reports that I already had months before in Poe-1, and for not complaining, they have been expanding. It did not matter this last time that it was a comment on Poe-2, his new game. I do not understand this hunt. It is a spiral of punishment, for unimportant comments. This time, I was defending that the state of the game as it is is moving away from the success of Poe-1, and the fan-boys told me to shut up, and I called them “dictators in the making” for wanting to shut me up, as if supporting my need for freedom of expression, without really intending to offend anyone. For that unimportant expression. When in “Global 1 Es” they keep breaking the rules, and nothing happens to them. It does happen to me, for something unimportant. Which moderator in that chat decides that? Under what reasons? Well, GGG shouldn't have cared that this happens, in fact, the unscrupulous reporter was heard too quickly, suspiciously quickly. This was after I bought a pack to play poe-2, which if I had known that they were going to treat me that badly... I wouldn't have bought... if they don't take me off that list, they won't see another coin from me. I don't think I'm a criminal or have acted so badly as to deserve this, and I don't want conflict, just to play calmly and in peace. That's what we players want, and I've been playing for at least 3 years. But they treat this not as a game, but as an act of the inquisition or something similar :D.

I think they should focus on improving their game, and not bothering us in so many ways instead of making us have a good time, which is what it's all about because it's a game, I insist. Because we don't need them for the unpleasant moments, which we already have too many, but to have a good time. Do they want to be like other companies, who are more concerned about making money in any way? and are hated by gamers. If not, prove it, treat me as a person, me and those who think the game is failing, and moderate those "moderators" of the chat, they are going too far and harming everyone, including GGG, giving excessive importance to what does not have it, while the bots do not stop bothering us, they care about a simple player who only wants to have a good time playing, bothering him and forcing him to not take them into account when supporting their game, when that does not harm them. I don't want to be anyone's enemy, I want to play peacefully and happily, and the same goes for those who demand that their requests be met to make this game more like Poe-1, and not so much like Rutless or other games.

Be fair and dedicate yourselves to giving us fun, that's what we pay for.

Well to be honest most ot four critique if ruthless betrays that you havent played it either at all or not that much. In ruthless trade league I can get pretty much whatever gem I need. I just trade for it. Vendor gear has always been crap so no one cares more than getting move speed boots and its not hard to level up and get a good build to maps. More effort than SC trade for sure. But in all POE2 is much harder. I just rolled the one class I havent played through acts in POE2 and I died three times on the beach to 5 crabs all sniping me from range while I had to chase them down before I just said, F it and just ran past them.

Nah, I never played Ruthless. I never saw a purpose in playing a game mode the game wasn't designed for. It's kinda how I used to play nothing but Hardcore until around Abyssal league when I realized they just weren't bothering the balance the game for it anymore.

PoE2 is being designed for this type of gameplay which might need tweaks but because their focus is actually on it that means I don't feel like I'm wasting my time waiting for fixes that won't come.

Well I have some good news.

Thats the beauty of EA and these builds, however broken then are, are usually found within a proper time frame and dealt with.

There is a holiday and staff right now are going on break but again I have faith this stuff will be tuned.

It is wild to me that EA seems to go over some peoples head though.

But ..but ...but it has doge roll! And it is supposed be hard and slow! /s ROFLMAO. Game is uninteresting, slow and uninteresting. I don't think finishing the acts and adding(borrowing PoE1) endgame will fix that.

Edit: Going to leave that typo in, seems kind of appropriate :)
