We need an actual AH (yes another time)

+1 to OP…I would like an in game AH.

GGG are smart enough to make it work that benefits the players and not the abusers.

If you think like that, I'll give you some more examples.

there are almost no more good ARPG, aside from PoE2 (personal opinion, i prefer PoE2 infinite times more than PoE1)

BUT

What if GGG show us that a good AH can be done in an ARPG leaving us the time to actually play the game?

You see, when some feedbacks are sent, I get that personal tastes or whatever are important, but AH could benefit to every player, unless you trade for real money which I'm pretty sure it's against the rules? dunno, never bothered, I work to get money.

So what's all the hate against a feature that could benefit and make the game even greater and accessible to everyone.

Or you prefer those niche games that are only for hardcore gamers?

I could point you via PM some horrible games that are very niche with a plethora of players ready to assault everyone that is proposing something new.

75% of the game is getting the gear, by having anything you want few clicks away you remove that. You no longer try to get better items, you grind away currency to buy it. That was the biggest downfall of D3. The moment you finished campaign you could just buy the gear many times stronger than any you could drop at that point. You no longr needed any upgrades to finish the game, the items you could buy were good enough to kill diablo and were cheap enough so anybody could afford that. Good enough gear is so abundant that it is just not realistic to have a shop like that.

Now we have to undestand who is dense, me, you or both.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AH AND BROWSER MARKET?

In any case you can get the stuff you want, in both cases you can farm currency to get said items anyway.

And, PoE was about gear, here... it's also about skill, a thing you can't buy from AH nor Web market. so, think carefully what you are saying.
Not that overgearing will not solve the issue, sadly, just think if they made a game where skill is crucial to win, wow that could mess up some kids for sure.

And, again, please stop talking about trash games, Diablo died after LoD

Cheers

Can there be a compromise though? I understand what you are saying with this but typically most newcomers won’t have the funds to completely gear out their character. But someone who has already gone through the game can help speed up the process which I think would be beneficial.

Except that was, and is, not true for PoE.
(D3 had tons of other issues including the real money thing, as old-school Diablo 1-2 fans know)

PoE1 endgame was all about farming currency to buy stuff on the trade website.
The chances of getting a specific jewel / unique or other stuff was just too low.

Here people are already doing the same.
An automated trade would not change anything in that regards.
If they want to rebalance all the game to favor drops / crafting instead of trading they are more than welcome, in fact I would love to do that instead of trading.

BUT

Because now it's all about trading, we would just like to have - almost - the same chances as people using bots / macros or just spending entire days in chat.

You nailed the issue here, and a plausible solution

And anyway my proposal is, just to add another way.
But it seems it's not clear, or maybe I'm not good at explaining, I'm open to this possibility too.

Accessibility is the difference. How many trades are not made because its not worth the time? How many items are not even posted because of the hassle it takes to sell them? Ive seen how AH destroyed games so i will keep talking about it. Just because facts dont line up with your point of view doesnt make them irrelevant. Also D2 is boring, i tried it, its outdated trash.

their should never be an AH never ever
Add Scion To PoE2
Anyone disagreeing with an in-game AH needs to immediately quit EVER using the website for trading as well, as they are, at their base, the exact same.

The only real difference is that the website heavily favors PC players over everyone else, and works nearly flawlessly to that end. However, because it seems to have a hangup when dealing with console players? There looks to be some kind of glitch where we can tell the site to send a whisper, but the whispers don't seem to reach their intended targets...

Thus, we can't utilize it successfully. Has nothing to do with not understanding how to use the thing: it just isn't working for console players most of the time (maybe at all, not sure, have yet to find a console player who has successfully made a trade using it- maybe they exist, I don't know).

I also wonder, as the game tosses an icon in front of the whisper telling the receiver what platform they are on... whether there is some kind of discrimination going on? Not saying intentionally hating on console players... but, it's well-known we have no love of using keyboards in the games we play. So, maybe the sellers aren't responding because it puts a burden on them due to us and keyboards?

I've watched tons of streamers' content, including trades they did, etc. There's a lot of communication at times. Console players can't do that readily or as easily. Maybe these other players aren't so hyped for going through the extra effort of dealing with 'no keyboard' buyers.

Worse, as I have found out by trying to use the website, the majority of sellers are foreign (Russian, Japanese, Chinese, etc)... who knows what kind of extra efforts might be going on there.

And, us console players are coming from a system where we search through listings to find what we want, then just put in our offer. We leave it at that for half an hour to 2 hours, check in on it when we can, look for the notification that it was refused or accepted, etc. Sure, it had its issues... but what did it have that THIS doesn't?

Anonymity.

In this game, that would be priceless. No indication that we are on any specific platform, language, culture, name, nada, zip. It is the perfect way to do business: they either match the price, or they don't- DONE.

It favors no one above anyone else. It isn't instant-buyout, so the big investor types trying to price fix still have to put in offers, one at a time, and wait... and wait... and wait. The in-game is the most friendly across ALL platforms, and to ALL players.

So, my guess is the people who are fighting against it so hard? They know how to abuse the website the best for that kind of predatory behavior, and don't want that power to be taken away.

Im against game being balanced around shop with everything you can think of in it. Do you have any idea how many items are generated every hour? AH is not even close to being the same. If it was you wouldnt be asking for AH. Game is already balanced around having trade, ah would just make it 100 times worse. You would never get anything of value from drops. All those items selling for 10ex? Fine, now they are vendor trash because there is so many of them. You think you would make any currency thanks to AH? Yoy can forget it. The flood of items comming to market every day will make everything worthless except the very top tier items that you would never even see. Thats how it will end up.
