Listening to the whiners opened Pandora's box
" No bait and switch, they never promised you horrible drop rates and they can do with their game what they need to make it successful, they owe you a big fat nothing past what you paid for to get into EA, and that's as long as you follow TOS.[/quote] This isn't about drop rates. You're conflating two things into one and using the weakest to support you're argument. And it was a bait and switch. Not intentional imo - they just knee jerked reacted to crying feedback because they've never made a game like this before. It's meant to be difficult and that's not going to be for everyone. The mistake was changing their minds for the difficulty and overall feel for the game - not changing their mind on more loot drops. |

" The problem is GGG doesn't understand selection bias You guys keep listening to the loudest, least skilled, most unhappy minority of the playerbase, and ignoring everyone who's contentedly playing the game and not pissed off or angry enough to go to the forums and shout for short term immediate pandering to their desires. Vash, you can do the math: whats 1% of 200-300 thousand people? Now count the average post count of complainers and multiply that. Tens of thousands of angry forum/reddit and X posts by the tiniest sliver of the playerbase Ofc some of us are going to loudly push back. Because we've already lost this battle in POE1 and its been ruined by people who want fast and trivial "gameplay" that doesn't require any important choices. Can GGG do polling? Listening to the loudest vocal minority is incredibly damaging to the game. Put polls in the game,(only way for it to not skew towards the most unhappy) God I don't want POE2 to devolve into POE1... you already have that game for those players. Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4. If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years. " This right here. It's naive to assume their demands will stop now. Last edited by Fae_Lyth#6750 on Dec 11, 2024, 7:07:04 PM

" Those are two different crowds with some overlap imo. I agreed on there needing to be more loot or at least improvements to mitigate the issues but "Bosses too hard" was and is ridiculous. They were not too hard, some needed to be harder if anything. |

"PoE 1 released as a difficult game, I would argue, more difficult than PoE2 ever was back in the Beta. GGG has a lot of experience with difficulty and understanding the appeal of it, the handling of it and the importance of loosening it when necessary. They have over a decade of experience in game development. You on the other hand are a person who plays games but is only viewing from a very narrow scope, same with OP. |

Go play fighting games if you want to feel skillful. The loot buff fixes time to kill, survivability is fine if you have a braincell. See cue, hear cue, move out of the way. The difference is it takes less time to kill a boss now. |

its early access and it seems like they went radio silent. im pretty sure they are discussing things.
i actually love the videos popping up on youtube where people just get steamrolled by bosses. with endless tries, this is actually fun. but when a map closes (if you dont chicken out in time) on some boss... hmm. im not sure about that. |

" Both crowds are tiny 1% People who want POE2 to become a clone of POE1 1% People who hate what POE1 devolved into and are passionately pushing back against that. 98% just playing the fucking game and having fun, not expecting a game to fall over in front of them and supplicate to their every entitled desire for a trivial vapid consequence free experience. Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.

" Can't agree with this more. Such a self defeating practice imo. For those of us who were actually playing and enjoying the game - we come back to all of these changes for the people that popped in for an hour - were killed by a boss and then went to the forums. They didn't face the challenge and improve - they folded the moment a challenge was presented. I say a poll would be great, maybe a wakeup call for GGG. Cannot agree more that I hope it doesn't devolve into POE 1 - what a waste that would be. |

" You fail to recognize that the game has changed massively since release. I was playing, ignoring the crying and now it's so trivial that there's hardly any point in playing. My only recourse is to come on the forums and speak my mind in hopes that others will do the same. Otherwise I just have to sit and watch as the game devolves into monotony. |
