I think if it's kept right where it is and from here on crafting improves it won't be the end of the world. Am I finding more rares? Yes. Are they good enough to carry me alone? No. Granted it's only been a few hours I haven't gotten 3 relevant stats on a gear piece yet. I expect I will at some point, but I don't think ground loot will be viable as-is for endgame progression.

I know there are some pics of crazy drops out there already, I've only seen two that come to mind, but I don't imagine those will even come close once we can actually dig into more crafting mechanics.

Did we play the same game...or I have to grind same map 30 times so I can start customize anything? Craft what? All we have is gacha mobile game system to craft. Even pity system like vendor recipe is gone, that one always lower than your level...

PoE 2 is the new shiny right now
Its launch numbers are impressive
Obviously a dated looking game like PoE 1 will never get as much hype with a season as a brand new sequel
Much of the hype is based on their trackrecord with PoE 1
Overall PoE 1 is still statistically much more impressive
The longevity, consistensy and growth
PoE 2 might do better in the long run, who knows
It also might not

This was the case before they split the game. They split the game exactly to keep both crowds happy. PoE1 fundamentally is not compatible with the type of game PoE2 is trying to be.

As for loot, I am vehemently against over-buffing loot until they take back what they said about no ruthless for PoE2.


POE1 of today was fundamentally incompatible with what it was during beta. POE1 tried more difficult, slower less rewarding approach already. They even added it back in ruthless and it is barely played compared to the non ruthless. You need to come to terms that POE2 will not be as successful as the devs want by catering to people who want the ruthless like experience. As for people staying on POE1, the devs have already said they cut back devs to 10 or less working on it.

Chances are they sunset it into maintenance mode while trying to push POE2 as with only around 150 employees and roughly they will not be able to keep active and good development on both games and naturally development will be prioritized on the new game, even after full release.

Would be nice to have currency to craft anything.
30 hours into the game and I've crafted a half decent pair of boots and a meh crossbow. No currency left for anything, still using magic items going into maps.

I get your point, but the loot and currency is a large part of what makes ARPG's fun. And I get none of it.
There should be some middle ground. Not just sloshing through one step forward than three steps back while white mobs soak up 50 bolts each.

Some might find that fun. For me it's the anthesis of fun.
Sorry I spent 100 dollars backing this game, will go back to POE1 when the next league is out. Won't call for a refund since they continue POE1 leagues, so I can spend my micro there.

The people who enjoy this sort of stuff can have your POE2.
I think people that do NOT enjoy it are allowed to be disappointed.

Gacha systems are more forgiving than this with guarantees, wishlists for weighting, locking of stats to reroll other stats and not lose what you have gained.

Exactly.. We have a chance to capture both a new audience and an old alienated audience, while keeping their original audience with the original PoE1.

GGG should have just called it a different game instead of PoE2 to remove the damn confusion but the branding was already done.. damn.

Back to topic, I don't feel any different in loot pool either. Properly because it's like critical. If the base is so small to begin with, a big percentage is still a tiny boost.

I think the GCP buffs were overboard, but everything else I am totally on board with, especially the bad luck protection.
