Grinding Gear Games promised us a game with all the depth, customization, buildcraft and intricacy of PoE1 without all the nauseating tedium, endless bloat, and needless finicky legacy complexity of the original game, and hell if they have not delivered as best I can tell. Is there room for improvement, sure. "Turn this game into PoE1" is not improvement.

Turn your goddamned Path of Exile 1 brains the hell off and play the new game AS a new game. Or go back to PoE1 if you want to get off Twilight Strand decked out in seventeen rares and three uniques.

Reporting you and moving on, you clearly have something to work through.
It's not about "our game" or "your game".

GGG will simply prioritize profits and change the game based on the stats they gather. If lots of people quit and the game is failing to retain even 20k people, changes will be made. That's just how it is. Otherwise all the money and time spent on making this game would be wasted.

Its has no depth at the moment, you use a specific biuld or you die and most gems don't work on most builds... so there's that to.
Quit poe1 because the loot is so overwhelming I do not even want to process it. I thought poe2 was finally going to be the ARPG that is about challenging gameplay and combat. ARPG games always devolve in to spinning around a map as fast as possible and there being hundreds of shiny bits on the ground to sort through at the end.

With these changes I am worries we are just going to go back to that.... I would just play poe 1 if thats the game I wanted...

Then stop demanding the new game be made nothing but a terrible dupliclone of the original game. if the only thing you care about is endless free power scaling and P.R.U.G.R.E.S.H.U.N. at the active and malicious expense of everything that makes PoE2 new, unique, and fantastic, go play PoE1.

PoE 2 was suppoed to be "our game"
It was announced as being an expansion to PoE1
It is a sequel to PoE 1
If it should not be anything like PoE1, they should have called it something else

Like it or not, it makes perfect sense to want it to be more like PoE 1
That's how franchises usually work

I would have personally enjoyed crafting a bit more if we had (slightly) more deterministic methods. I'm not talking bench/meta/beast all that, but the base hunting we were getting was a worse alt-spam. Idk what the ideal balance would be between pure RNG that we have now (save essence, but that just gets a blue) and somehow tilting the odds more in your favor so you potentially get a 3-5 mod/6 item with 6/6 being the chase.

and this is what i was hoping GGG was working towards, but instead they seemed to opt out form even testing this and provide a quick fix. wouldn't it be great if we sticked to it, provided feedback and maybe this part got improved? maybe some orbs would have different weighting of valuable mods, like transmutes would be way more likely to roll wanted mods for each base. this was suppose to be the time we test shit liek this. to make rolling decent rares more fun

We don't know that they're not looking at it. In my initial feedback post I also brought up crafting, most of them I've checked out have brought it up too. Something had to give and if changing the drop percentage of loot by a bit tides everything over until they smooth out crafting, I don't see any harm. I think doing absolutely nothing would have been the worst case.

As crafting stands, I don't see a way to make those 3-5 mod items that isn't down to random chance right now. So for effectively the same result, they nudged ground loot. I have to imagine the same logic hit them, but now I'm just speculating.

This was the case before they split the game. They split the game exactly to keep both crowds happy. PoE1 fundamentally is not compatible with the type of game PoE2 is trying to be.

As for loot, I am vehemently against over-buffing loot until they take back what they said about no ruthless for PoE2.
loot seems fine now(atleast on act 3), just did 2 levels and my first ascendancy, only 19 levels over :p

i wanted to be sure since i have never played sanctum.
it was a bit harder than izaro but nothing too major, i even effed up the first area and didnt get the totems or whatever on time.. but recovered nicely.

people are raging since they want their easy-to-get poe 1 things

do not ignore traders, they actually have way better things than you can craft/find on early game

Why did they bother making a new game if people like you or Vag or Dekahn are going to demand they remove absolutely everything that makes the new game different from the old one and replace it with "just PoE1"?

The Parts of Path of Exile you think are 'good' - the absurd, absolutely out-of-control scaling, the obtuse and impossible to understand crafting system(s), all the borked insanity - are the parts that make it a sub-niche of a sub-niche that's mostly written off as a cult game for weirdoes by everyone else in the world. Do you honestly, honestly think "PoE1 but shinier" would've pulled over a million keys sold and still going strong? Not bloody likely.
She/Her
I presume this is trolling.
"casual player -12.000h in POE1, just a family dad playing a couple of hours per day".

12k hours over the span of 11 years is three hours. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

So no, you are not a causual.
I played 6 hours today after the patch.
I didn't notice a drop increase AT ALL.
If anything it felt worse.
Got one single skill gem. No gemcutters. No chaos. No exalt, no alchs, no chance, no regals. In six hours. Just a few transmutes and augments.
One blacksmiths whetstone.

A few rares and a bunch of the usual magic items I could not upgrade BECAUSE THERE IS NO CURRENCY DROPS.

The upside is I got my two first uniques today. After 30 hours played.
Both of them energy shield off hands, that I can't use as a mercenary.
Game just giving me the finger at this point.

I'm very very close to quitting and uninstalling.
