" You hae 1 character lvl 86 and you joined in 2017, your max completed challenges in a league was 7, no supporter packs etc, meaning youre a hit and run type of guy, why the hell are you even here giving opinions? Let the grown man talk. IGN - Slayonara

" What a pleasant guy. That attitude will DEFINITELY help keeping new players. ♥ Last edited by Fae_Lyth#6750 on Dec 9, 2024, 10:32:21 PM

Remember those closed beta testers they had going through the game and giving them feedback? What happened with that?! Did they just ignore any and all feedback, or did the testers even give feedback at all???
Something doesn't seem right with that. |

It's a good game, but for me, it's a survival game, not a 'HnS.' I want fun, loot, and theory crafting. For now, I'm taking a break from the game and will come back when it becomes a bit more entertaining for me.

I read the thread to see what kind of well articulated feedback the people here had but it's just that they want poe1 with poe2 graphics, as they don't like any of the new systems, and want everything the way poe1 works (juice to the extreme and either have a broken build that can clear everything in an instant or die immediately), mobs in poe1 are just health containers to deplete, players see the models at the beginning of the game in the campaign when they have to be slow, then they zoom so much they don't even look at what they are killing it's the same, doesn't matter the kind of mob, thanks to that poe1 became a on-death effect fest, because it didn't matter which mob it was it would die immediately and explode then people started trying to zoom even faster to dodge the explosions, and it went on and on, and yes you can look at my profile, I've played this game for years, I'm no "tourist" like the gatekeepers here love to say, I started with tempest so I have at least 10 years of experience playing this, I loved it at the beginning, it was slower but rewarding, then the speed creep came and it got so extreme I started playing less and less, and as I saw the skills and current gameplay it was fun for a bit until my game descended into 2 options, either zoom and kill everything in an instant or get wrecked.
My enthusiasm got the lowest after Sirus, his bossfight was the worst because it showed that exact thing that I hated the most in extreme, either I had to have extreme dps and bring him down fast or else if I took my time to fight with he would either offscreen instagib me or cover the whole field with his stupid storms, after that I played less and less, and when I saw PoE2 announcement and they said it was gonna be very slow, very methodical with hard lot and more thoughtful combat I was happy, the speed piano 1 hit skill that poe had become wasn't what I liked, my first arpg love, like many people here was diablo 2, which was exactly like poe2 here, very slow, it really felt that you were in the dephts of hell, not into some power fantasy in which you are god and every boss is just a 1 shot enemy. Now I think the game has to have the option to zoom and kill everything in the screen if you want, but imo that should be something very hard to do, and it should be possible only with the best gear and a well thought build, the great thing of these games is that the sky is the limit, there's always an interaction between skills that has the potential to be absurd, poe1 is not like that, most build are zooming builds, all use the same support skills, and synergy between different skills was meh, it was either using ye ol vaal righteous fire for more spell damage, or vaal haste for more as/cs. I love the current version of poe2 and I wish it stayed like that until endgame, I would argue that some skills (1h club and shield) seem to have a disadvantage with mobs being so tough and hitting hard, but as this is early access I hope GGG notices these new player chokepoints and fix them, and I also hope that they don't lower the difficulty, I have seen some dudes clearing screens and 1 shotting bosses already which makes me a bit scared that it would return to poe1 but I see GGG trying to monitor everything so all skills have fair chance. |

If you don't like PoE2, you don't like ARPGs.
What you really like is a pachinko machine that blows fireworks into your face and makes your neuron activation tingle. PoE1 is probably the only thing keeping you out of the casino. And let's be real: The reason why many PoE1 players have a bad time in PoE2 is because they build nonsense. I'm betting most people looked at a 4 life regen amulet in Act 1 and thought "lol that's bad in PoE1, what is this trash, where is Karui Ward for MOVEMENT SPEEEEEEEEEED?!", not realizing what an OP stat even a little bit of flat health regen is in PoE2. Dumping the first 15 points into damage nodes and then complaining white mobs one-shot them as they dodge-roll into packs and get surrounded. Meanwhile, I'm over here facetanking bosses with my Titan since late Act 1, stunlocking them and blowing up two dozens enemies at once while clearing. Hard to swallow truth: A completely new player to PoE in general is likely more successful in PoE2 than 5000h PoE1 vets because they don't have accumulated years of bad habits. |
