PoE 2 Is For Tourists

Look at the direction they are taking this game.
PoE1 was all about learning more and breaking the game with gear and synergies. they WANTED you to feel like you outsmarted the developers by finding powerful combos.

Now, if your combo isn't one of the pre-approved developer synergies, they shut it down. They aren't asking "how can we bring this level of enjoyment to as many playstyles as possible", they are focusing on making sure players have to use their intended playstyles.

A natural synergy as basic as a fast low damage skills being used to activate triggers is now off-limits. Tune down the balance, sure. But "Not Allowed" is not what we should be hearing unless there is no other option.

This is not Path of Exile

Let me clarify that for you:

In particular, we are going to be moving towards it being that you will not be able to apply very weak ailments from low level abilities to build energy. It is our intention that using low level skills with no investment is not an appropriate avenue to trigger copious amounts of high damage spells.

Want to use a fast skill to rapidly build energy for a trigger? Invest in the fast skill. Use things that improve your Ignites, support the fast skill properly. It's been well known for a long time now that PoE1-style Trigger Bonanza builds that generate ten thousand gigaspells a second from taking twenty-three damage off a Heartbound Loop are not okay in PoE2. They weren't okay in PoE1. People just did them anyways.

A game studio telling people to just play the original game, instead of the new sequel, is probably the stupidest thing I have ever heard of.
Why would they have two f2p live service games that play the same?
Are people really whining about build diversity when over half the skills, weapon types and 2/3rds of Ascendancies are still missing? Yeah theres not much leeway in Warrior right now because Flails and Axes are not in the game and Warrior passive tree has nodes for those weapons at the fringes.

We're still in the part of the beta where we're testing the fundamentals of the game, thats why all the cookie cutter builds with each class are spelled out for the players and they don't require much gear investment to be good. Zizarran the streamer is still using the Warrior standard Boneshatter combo 90% of the time.
From the reaction some of you people have to PoE2, complaining that it's not the same as PoE1, it's obvious why Ubisoft and Activision could skate by releasing the same games over and over again for almost two decades. The type of people playing Bethesda games, a studio that hasn't taken a single step since Skyrim.

Why bother with a new game if it's just the old one with a different paintjob? Go play Assassin's Call of Farcry 49 or something.

They haven't taken a single step since Morrowind lol
The recursion began with Morrowind.

If you leave a 1* review on a restaurant, nobody expects you to put recipes in your review for the restaurant to start making. Games are the same.

This is extremely brilliant, almost too intelligent for the average brain :o

*People with any semblance of intelligence don't watch an entire season of a TV show just to see if it's any good lol*
