You're sitting here arguing with me when you literally are the tourist I'm talking about. You've played one PoE character in the last 5 years, and you couldn't even crack level 90 with it.

It's great that you enjoy the game. It's great that you like the bosses, I think they're the best part as well.

You don't have the perspective to see that people like you cannot sustain the game. As soon as Twitch moves to a different meta you will be gone. You probably won't even make it to Season 2, whenever that is.

It's not that I think it's wrong to make a game that is aimed at a different audience. It's that calling this PoE is ridiculous, and somehow a huge part of the conversation seems to be centered around difficulty when that's not even top 10 problems that the game has.

Bad balance is expected in EA. Bad design, bad system changes, and zero fun are not.

Yes, yes. Tourist. Promo. Only one character. I got it, thanks. You've said that like 20 times now.
Shame that's all you come up with, and nothing at all related to any of the points I made.

You don't have a point...

Your point is basically "I like it because it's hard and you must just suck at the game" when I don't even think the game is hard...

You don't have the PoE 1 experience to even let you understand why PoE 2 is inferior because you haven't ever even made it past the early midgame of PoE 1.

It's great, you can like it, whatever. Doesn't mean the game will stick around or work if it's anything like the way it is in EA today.

Answer this question and I'll take you seriously... What is the most complicated craft you ever completed in PoE 1?

PoE1 is not the same game it was a decade ago. Why do you so strongly think they aren't going to keep molding into a game it people enjoy? Your account is only a few years old, so you're relatively new to the scene to be making such bold claims. Many of us have been here since the beginning. If you think PoE1 now is the same game it was originally, you are sorely mistaken. Let them cook and get feedback.

So you're telling me that after a decade of learning what works and what doesn't we can expect another decade or so before the game delivers a modicum of fun?

It's Called PoE 2. It's supposed to have something to do with PoE...

Yeah I guess I'm crazy thinking five years in development would be enough to not actively make what was good about the first game miserable.

If the goal is to let it bake until it's more like PoE 1 then why are people mad that we want it accelerated to that point.

That's the problem. They are intentionally taking it in a worse direction... It is now a campaign to play like some kind of EZ, top down, dark souls. That's going to be somewhere around 85% of the player base.

It's not about how many years your account has on it. I am not trying to say nobody who hasn't played since beta can have an opinion. I am specifically addressing that individual who has never played a single character to level 90 in any mode... ever. I may not be a day one player, but I've played a lot more than one character in one league and I have heavily engaged with a variety of builds in the endgame.

It really does feel like a "streamerbait" game.

What pisses me off is ZiZ and Tri are claiming that its the best game they've ever played. And they couldnt be happier with the current state of the game. Theyre such sellouts.
Or maybe they actually like it? Some of us like different things than you, hard concept I guess.

200%

I won't be back to POE2 for a long time, maybe never. So glad GGG made a second game for these unrewarding (for me) game design decisions instead of changing POE1 into this unfun, frustrating slog.

Just glad I can use all those points in the POE1 shop.

POE 3.26 ETA end of January! Let's Go!!
This strategy is familiar. I think they took the players with the most hours in these games and made it challenging for them and then doubled it.

I believe this strategy led to the success of POE the first time around. It is what got me here in the first place.

Are you being intentionally dense, or just rage baiting?

They said it would be a different game from the beginning. They never claimed it was the successor to PoE2, but would play more methodically and slowly. I'm sorry that you were mislead by someone.

Their goal wasn't to recreate the first game. If you are expecting PoE1 with a new paint of coat, you should probably just move on now. That was never their plan.

All I'm saying is that the game you like now wasn't always that way. They took the game they wanted to create and worked for years to make it better. PoE 2 will be the same way, but you are comparing a new vision of theirs to a game with a decade+ of work into it.

If we are being honest with ourselves. PoE 1 is just not engaging. Any experienced player has no challenge left in the game. It's turn off your brain and watch pretty lights and get loot that lets you move even faster with still no challenge. It's fine if that's for you, but they specifically said that's not what they wanted for the game.

Completely fine if you don't like it, but let's stop misrepresenting what they are trying to deliver here. You claim it's in a worse direction, but on steam alone it's still getting 500k concurrent players a day. You think you might be in the vocal minority here? It's like in other real life situations, the people enjoying things are not out there complaining. They enjoying it.

The game isn't faultless, but your just being a completely doomer and closed off to the idea you might be wrong about something or maybe this game just wasn't made for you?

They did the opposite for POE1. It started it harder with less loot drops and they never planned to make it easier and more loot drops (they wanted the D2 experience). They then made the campaign easier and more loot dropping and shifted the challenge to endgame. Years down the road they added ruthless to be similar to beta POE1 and it is barely played by the population.

I haven't crafted much yet. I wanted to focus on other things first.
As you pointed out yourself, it's my first active league in PoE1, and it got halted because of PoE2.

I have loved PoE1 enough to be hyped for PoE2 and buy a pack immediately when I found out.

I never stated I like PoE2 *for* being difficult.
I said I like it *and* I don't find it too difficult (disagreeing with a common criticism on the forums).
That was my point. That's it.
