I tried the D4 Beta. I think PoE is going to be just fine.

Which is the beauty of player choice and freedom. If ALL choices are equal, your choice doesn't really matter. But if you're free to make a choice that may be objectively 'worse', but is subjectively good for you based on your preferences, that's a good thing.

The problem is when one choice is gimping you. And I don't really feel like putting force move on left click is gimping me. I usually have more than enough buttons available on my builds to effectively use what I need to use when I need it. Choices.

I mean I guess? Its weird one tbh. It's like saying I choose not to pick an ascendancy. Sure it's a choice, but I'd argue not a great one.

And if you don't personally apply a passive skill, like most do, to your move button, that's an intentional gimp. I mean you could also play without chest armor to move faster, which ok, you do you. I have not seen a single streamer play this way, which obviously doesn't represent everyone, but whatever. So if you want to get me on unverifiable hyperbole of 99%, sure, you win the forum game today.

Now I'm interested in seeing a poll on this, I don't like putting a skill on left button either.

You are moving either way, so why not get a passive buff? Why wouldn't you, unless you didn't understand that's it both force move and the skill activation? (Note not every skill functions this way as lmb)

It's just the 'why would I bother if I have enough buttons', and I usually do. If I'm not strapped for buttons, it isn't an advantage, I'm losing nothing by opting out.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

I agree. But would the game actually be better if it forced you to pick one? The game not holding your hand, and actually lets you make less optimal choices if you want to is a good thing in my eyes, at least most of the time. Splitting a road in 5, where two choices are good, 1 choice is situational and 2 choices are objectively worse is a better scenario than splitting a road in just 2 equal choices.

Player choice = good.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

You know what, bottom line is I agree with that. Good or bad, the actual choice is the key element regardless of how I feel about which one a player makes.

After watching the Kripparian review of the beta, he confirms my expectations completely.

Bad mechanics overall and fun, but wont last long.

In the long term of time Poe is much better choise.

99% of time I do not put a passive on LMB, and I ALSO put move on the T-key.

I do ok.

But why auto attack on left mouse?

Because I'm lazy and it doesn't bother me much on this toon. Typically, it's also set to feet icon. I threw this guy together yesterday and am still messing around.
I for one am looking forward to give the D4 open beta a shot this weekend. I didnt pre-buy D4, so didnt play this last weekend.

Ive seen a few clips for and against D4 in the current state. Just want to give it a shot on my own and see how if feels.

D4 will never be as complex and complicated as PoE, and that is fine too. As long as it's fun to play and gives enough freedom of skill choices, it can work.
D4 is a bit of a joke, extremely casual but all over the place and still draconian trading restrictions.

At this point, GGG can only mess up themselves, POE2 is easily going to beat it unless they mess up.

That's not to say you cannot play both but D4 is D3 with better graphics and a half-assed attempt at more in-depth build customization.

They didn't even bother to change the text font/type with loot, it's looks IDENTICAL to D3, even the animations.

The only thing D4 did right is the darker palette, which you could probably mod D3 with. They are trying to hard to be an MMO and not an ARPG.

However if POE continue to be 99% crafting and 1% drops with 100000000000 gazillions loot types and mechanics maybe a dumb-downed slow pace ARPG will be extremely enjoyable and successful.

D4 does have it beat with group play, POE for most is a single player experience with online chat.
