I tried the D4 Beta. I think PoE is going to be just fine.

PoE was the spiritual sucessor to D2, and anyone who enjoyed D2 is playing PoE not D4

I'm an old school Diablo 1/Diablo 2 player, i disliked diablo 3 and jumped ship to this game, was deep into PoE at some point but i do not enjoy the direction that poe has taken for the last couple of years.

Enjoyed the D4 beta immensely and looking forward to the release of D4, found that actual gameplay and flow of pace in D4 is the best i've experienced in an arpg to date and it was very addictive.

Advice for you is to be careful when generalizing, as it is D4 is looking more true to the roots of D2 rpg exploring than current PoE that is a speed farming meta (like D3 rifts).

I of course hope for the best when it comes to PoE 4.0 and that both games will do well and coexist. Having 2 good arpgs to play is better than just 1.
