75% less flask charges is insane

So you are all for nerfs because it benefits your bottom line. That sounds about right with the contributions I've seen so far.

I think the changes are extremely good for the game's long-term health - especially the flask adjustments, for reasons I've already outlined. And I also enjoy them very much because yes, I have profited from them handsomely, I am right now, and will do so in the future.

Say... can I interest you in a soon-to-be Triple-Legacy Vinktar's? A Steal at only 2 Mirrors. Too much? I'll tell you what... I'll cut you the friends-and-family discount on a Double-Legacy Atzeri's - 199ex. Half off!

Thank you guys for beta-testing my content for me. I appreciate you all working through the bugs so that things work properly when they make it to the Permanent League.

I don't know what types of builds you play, but it is impossible to always dodge/avoid being hit. Without immunity you will get hit and frozen and die at some point if you play enough. Especially CI builds which I mainly play.

you can set up the new autopots tho right? if you find a flask that gives you 3 or 4 uses from a full pot, roll anti freeze on it, augment it so that it triggers on you being frozen and then just never manually press that flask, move the button elsewhere if u have to.

thats what im gonna do for freeze.

hey snorkle hows it going man !

glad we're agreeing on something :)

whats up grepman, good to see you still here too :)

im still here, still love this game, still believe in these devs. ive had my moments where ive doubted them, doubted the game, had my patches i didnt agree with... but the bigger picture is that its the best dev team in the world in terms of commitment, heart, soul, its the best arpg we will ever play in our lives by a long stretch.

i would argue that they shouldnt have let it go this far and require this big a set of nerfs to fix, in fact i have argued that, many times, but this is where we find ourselves and this is the way to get from here to a better game so power to it, needs done.

im mostly giving myself space from arpgs before d4/poe2, but these changes are interesting and i think worth coming along to try out.

Wanted to follow up on this change being in the pipes for years.

Absolutely nothing GGG has ever indicated before this was that they were going to make a massive system change. Even someone that has an "in" tarke had absolutely no idea a change was coming.

people have been going piano flasks for years and years and years, and for as long as people have been doing it people have said this is silly, its out of hand. when taste of hate released people were saying ok this is stupid strong for a flask, how can u nerf coil and then add coil + hatred in a bottle? what on earth is this? what is going on?

i expected all these things theyre nerfing to get nerfed eventually, so have loads of people ive spoken with for years. auras, flasks, curses, support gems, monsters... all of these systems have crossed a line at points where they stopped performing the function they were designed to perform and became excess, sometimes clunky baggage that sometimes actually just detracted from the game. i think anyone looking at the game objectively from a design perspective could see theyve needed changed at points.

unless these new flask orbs are as rare as Tempering Orb. dont you think it is just.. to easy of a plan given the circumstances? they have just murdered most flasks and flasks usage in general and you 'can just roll' a mod that solves all problem?

dont you think it is tad optimistic?
Also... for those concerned by the prospect of chain freezing and unwilling to swap out an inexpensive ring, cheap boots or buy some more expensive gear for immunity:

That, coupled with an Ample Flask of Heat should deal with the issue.

Because breachstones are boring, have to party up which means waiting for others and lag, is not profitable, and you also miss out on all the other content the game has to offer.

That is a choice you make then. If you choose to take the road less traveled, then you accept the risks and pain that goes with it. Your complaint is akin to someone in SSF upset they have problems finding gear.

Getting 100 is hard and boring. I did it by running tier 11 strands. It took me about a month at 8 hours a day. If you choose to make it harder, so you're not "bored," then you can't complain when you choice bites your in the arse.

You are opting for more challenge with your decisions. That's fine. But don't gripe about what you did to yourself.

Edit: I also do other content like Heist. Took my last lvl100 character from lvl99 to lvl100 by just running heist contracts. Opening doors in heist without immunities will be rough now. It's stop and start content so flasks are hardly going to be up.

Decoys, totems, reflections, minions, ice wall - these things all work wonders in Heist. I've been using them very effectively to sail through Heist contracts and Blueprints.

I know how to play the game dude. My last two lvl100s were deathless doing random content. Stop trying to teach others how to play the game when we are just pointing out the things that are going to be rough to handle like freeze immunity for certain builds. And don't come with that BS that you can see it coming and avoid it. Literally every single build guide or pro streamer online gets immunity to freeze in some form. If they were "real" pros like you seem to be, then that would not be necessary. Rather go preach elsewhere to the other pros that they are playing the game wrong.

maybe they havent actually murdered flasks that badly because along with these changes is buffs to flasks in ways like this? doesnt that seem like a far more likely situation?

an aquamarine flask by default will reduce the effect of freeze so that you can still perform actions while 'frozen', more like a heavy chill. so you dont even need to roll an anti freeze flask now, a white base item aquamarine will stop you being frozen solid while its active and its a 20/50 charge, 5 second flask that you could then roll duration or reduced charges used on. you can use that until you roll a proper antifreeze with autopot on freeze.

oh im fine, ill manage just fine with freezes etc. not worried one bit about these changes

my comment.. to be frank, i think you are very, very naive here. these orbs are just too good to be true. 'we butcher entire system but here is a solution so you can have it back'. nope, they wont do that. Chris said many things in the past. given how detached he is from the reality we get the famous '40 meta shaking gem buffs' and stuff. not to mention that 'rolling' it might literally mean 'clicking the flask 4 times (with an orb that costs fortune to get)' - just like changing enchants on body armour. it is very easy. getting the orbs is the difficult part, rolling - oh, thats easy

these orbs will be rare, not exalt-rare but i bet blessing-rare at least

and the list of enchants will contain 90% filler / 10% the stuff you want. just like EVERY SINGLE LIST in POE

have you ever farmed belt enchants? poe.db says these arent weighted but i call bollocks on that. not after farming them for 3 days straight with prophecies and stuff. the 'garbage' ones are at least 5 times more likely to roll. same with boot enchants where you are ~10times less likely to get ele pen than 'add something useless when you did something unlikely'

i bet we will get enchants like 'pot when hindered', 'pot when on tar ground', 'pot when a blue mob hits you' etc just to dilute the pool

if you think you can get these orbs and enchants easily.. my guess is that people will reuse flasks like this on their new characters, just like most did with their bottled faith

I believe I am offering good advice on how to deal with your problems. I you don't want public replies to your questions and comments, then don't solicit them on a public forum.

So freeze is not an issue and you know how to play? Or it's a big problem and you're going to die and you don't know how to handle it, the sky is falling and PoE as we know it is ending?

You're waffling between one and the other. It's very strange. If you know what to do, and know how to handle the situation, then the issue is resolved and you have nothing to complain about - just go do it and be happy.
