75% less flask charges is insane

and the list of enchants will contain 90% filler / 10% the stuff you want. just like EVERY SINGLE LIST in POE

I agree that most of the enchants will probably be very situational or undesirable. That's just the nature of PoE. RNG lottery galore. I'm going to guess they'll probably be about on par with Maven Map drops. Uncommon if you need one, but if you actually pick them up, before you know it, you have half a stash tab full of the things.

If you really want the auto-flask, I suspect you'll probably be able to get what you want for about 10c per attempt. Prices will be high at first, don't pay a premium for novelty. They'll most likely be like Divine Vessels early on - expensive, but as they glut up the market, they will drop.

On the subject of auto-flask functionality, I am dubious as to their efficacy. I suspect the automation will be a poor substitute for using them yourself.

For example, corrupting blood on my ice-shot archer is a real danger unless I carefully moderate my bleed flask. I have to wait until it's at max stack, then when I hit about 50% life drink a shot. Then, repeat the process again, as none of my characters are dealing face-melting damage, so it's not uncommon to have 3 bleed stacks to deal with before I've killed the Rare monster. If the flask just clears every time it's up, it will burn out the potion before the MOB is dead - and I'm cooked.

So I'll be sticking with old fashioned emergency self flask use. But, since we haven't seen these things in action, maybe they are more intelligent in their usage than we're giving them credit for. Perhaps some of the mods on the auto-flasks allow us to get really conditional on their useage.

Example: "Uses Potion when character effected by X# of Bleed stacks."

We'll just have to wait and see what happens.
Also, It would be great if GGG offered a currency item that clears the enchant. A scouring orb for things like the Heist Orbs, Harvest Enchants, Labby Enchants, and these new Potions Enchants.

Much of the time the enchant is harmless even if it's not useful - but some of the Harvest, Heist and possibly these potion enchants could prove troublesome - it would be excellent if there was a way to just remove the enchant and set the item back to neutral.

my comment.. to be frank, i think you are very, very naive here. these orbs are just too good to be true. 'we butcher entire system but here is a solution so you can have it back'. nope, they wont do that.

well the orbs are in the game, so they have done it...

you say they butchered the system but heres a solution to have it back. well, they obviously didnt butcher the system then did they? thats incorrect framing, if they changed the system and within the changes are removing one way of doing things and adding another, then thats changing a system, it would only be butchering it if they had not added a different way to do things at the same time. the devs have clearly said they wont be that rare and just like putting quality on your flasks it will be an endgame thing but you will be able to do it and get ur flasks how you want in a similar amount of investment.

Im not naïve, im looking at the info the devs have given us on the changes and appraising it.

if the info the devs give us doesnt match the reality, and the reality sucks, and the reality would be a lot better if the info they gave us previously was correct then we can come back here and make that case to them. IF and WHEN that happens, im not so morbidly obsessed with being negative at all costs that im gonna complain about things that havent even happened.

complaints hold a lot more weight if they only happen when theres something tangible to complain about. if we just become players who complain about everything and even just make up shit in our own heads to be negative and complain about its boy who cried wolf, people will just press the mental mute button on us and ignore everything we say because we have proven ourselves to lack credibility and honesty in our feedback.

both white knights and the permanently outraged do nothing but detract from valuable critical discourse on the game and its our duty to manage ourselves so we dont slip into these roles if we really care about the game and the conversation surrounding it. i know you have good feedback sid, i know you care, i know the majority of points you make are valid points that need made, but lets just play this opening weekend of the patch and see whats really there, what were really dealing with before we cast judgements on the balance of variables in the systems.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)
there are two ways of doing things:

wait for it to happen, then complain - but why complain, it is already done
complain when the danger looms - but then you are complaining before seeing the real deal

no good way to complain, pretty much every discussion (and i mean real, job-related stuff) falls into these two. role of the higher ups is to make use of these EVEN if some of them are waste of time.

but you nor me have any say in the proceedings so maybe you are right

on the opening weekend tho.. we have kinda good weather here, i wont be around. ultimatum launch fiasco might be a one-of kind of thing but.. why risking real life fun if there is a tiny chance of it repeating itself? ill check on Monday. two days wont change damn much - i play standard.
Just an update on this - the Flask orbs are VERY VERY common - at least in standard. I've snagged about 20 of them since patch, running maps and Heist.

For those that want them, you should have no problems setting up the auto-flask you want once you get to maps. Maybe sooner, no idea how their dropping for you beta-testers in league running the normal acts.

flasks feel worthless now

Hrm... not worthless. Just not a one-stop-fix-it-shop solution to every character build problem anymore.

- Not enough damage? Drink 3-links worth of flasks!
- Not enough resist? Swallow 65% elemental negation!
- Not enough Armor? Gulp a Tower Shield!
- Not enough Evasion? Quaff a Zodiac Leather!
- Low Chaos Resist? Chug a 60c ring!
- Not enough Physical mitigation? Swig 2/3rds of a fortify!
- Can't load 120% Curse maps? Swallow 2 rings, an acendency and 5 skill-nodes!

And so much more...

Potions were a cheap, easy way to avoid half the game's most dangerous and difficult content. You can still do it - you just have to gear and build around it now.

Seems fair to me.

And yeah, I feel bad for the folks in Standard - I'm one of them - who have to spend a pile of money to fix their characters. That sucks. But, there is no question the flask mechanics were over-powered and causing actual, measurable RSI. Something had to give.

Now, flasks are no-longer making-and-breaking builds, and, while you can still piano with enough gear... why would you want to hurt yourself for 6% More damage and a small spot of run-speed...

The flask changes are the only real problem with this league for me so far, especially for ailments. This is a change that will kill the game if it's not reverted.
i'm still hitting almost 100% flask uptime on my necro's if there is enough monsters on the map

bosses are L2P time

i still hardly ever use my flasks before or after the flask nerf with my necro. the odd health pop and maybe a quick phase here and there but i pretty much have 100% flask uptime.

this game has many more pressing issues that GGG do not have the staff to cover. small company, that only hire locally. kind of a joke really thinking they can keep up with the player load they have.

anyway, where's the trade system nerf at? i mean the rest of the game gets nerfed, why not trade. REMOVE THE OLD LISTINGS!!!!!!!!!!! more than one league of past trade items is more than sufficient. don't need year old listing anymore. get with the times
poe is going down fast. Diablo 4 and Baldur's Gate 3 have no performance issues. play them instead
