75% less flask charges is insane
" A true re-work is likely not feasible. The problem is that there are lots of core systems - in this case, flasks - that were designed around a much slower version of Path of Exile that is long dead and gone. Multiple systems have been broken out of their original design intent for a while. I'm not arguing that to be a good or bad thing in this particular instance, but I am arguing that I'm not sure a true re-work is possible short of overhauling nearly every system in the game. Path of Exile in its current form is a weird mix of core systems designed around open beta all the way to systems designed around pre-nerf Harvest. I'm not sure tweaking any one or two of those systems is really going to accomplish a coherent result. The 352nd character to hit Level 100 in Standard

" Some character in standard with legacy flask or something? Because 2 points to get the one node in ranger what I would consider "multiple flask nodes", especially considering there are a number of them on the tree, jewels, ect. https://youtu.be/T9kygXtkh10?t=285

" I disagree, but maybe its a change that will have to wait for POE 2. We know they aren't willing to adjust skill gems until then, but that is the chance to change a system based on killing and only killing (basically) of recharging flask. Sure theres on crit and certain nodes\ascendancy classes. https://youtu.be/T9kygXtkh10?t=285

" The main problem is that flask pianoing was a system that jives well with the newer faster constant spam version of PoE that we have and changing it now makes flasks not really work as the game really wants them to work. Changing flasks really demanded a change to how encounters work in the game and they just didn't do that. The problem lies not just within flasks themselves but gameplay as a whole and they only changed one part and now it's grating. |

" No, the poster said "...at a HIGH investment cost." That means you have to really spec and gear hard for the "Privilege" of causing yourself RSI now. And fortunately - for the most part - in the beta leagues, it's not worth the effort. Which is a good thing, at least in my opinion, for game balance... not to mention for people's physical well-being. Last edited by Sabranic_SilverDeth#2793 on Jul 27, 2021, 8:40:57 PM

" Which is why I asked him how he was still pianoing, giving he spec'd only 2 nodes on one of his characters for flask charges, unless its a standard character he was referring to. You say its good for peoples physical well-being, but ignoring the fact that it isn't going to actually stop people from pressing the button that give them buffs, even if they unbind the keys that consume the flask to reduce consumption and focus on trigger flask, we've had how many years of muscle memory of activating flask? https://youtu.be/T9kygXtkh10?t=285

" It's pretty easy to stop doing something. You just don't. For me it was super-easy - PoE flask chaining did massive damage, and even using them just on bosses and when frozen/bleeding causes me a fair bit of pain. Because the damage I did was permanent. Just don't do it. We're not trained dogs - we're people, and we can change how we react to things. |
