Is it just me or is Evasion complete garbage?

Adding more evasion/dodge/block to a character that already has nothing but binary defense layers doesn't solve any of its problems.

And these problems are only going to be exacerbated even further next league now that we know all side content can get buffed by the mist.
With all the binary layers of evasion, the joke is that, you will still get one shot killed either through unavoidable corrupted blood, unavoidable off screen beams, unavoidable nova and degen.

So don't forget the cast on damage taken with steelskin and pray that you kill the boss before he kills you.

And happy delving too, if you can so to prove that evasion is godly in delve.

evasion is the only way to get super low level delving
massive 1 shot damage coupled with as much avoidance as you can reasonably get

no amount of mitigation is going to save you at those depths. everything is a one shot even with 50,000 ES

Actually Evasion + Dodge /Block is go to mechanics together with all in into damage in deep delve. Its the reason why CI Bow builds with 200 ES are deepest delvers.

But for normal mapping including bossing i consider evasion garbage except if its converterted into into armour with Iron Reflex for Vaal Molten Shell.

You do realize how delving works at that depth?
Its basically trial and error hoping to have enough evades and dodges to blast through the node sitting behind a frost wall?
Its a situation where your xp bar doesnt matter when going for deep delve.


I dont even know why i care to explain you probaböy never saw deep delving.
I think the point is that a case scenario where you are eating hundreds of deaths doesn't speak much for a defence, even if it is the only way to progress at that depth.

10k depth delve is a pretty irrelevant measuring stick for anything aside from heroic patience which everyone who goes beyond like 500 has as far as i'm concerned lol
in an environment where everything one shots you evade/dodge is the only option. viable? well....yes. it isn't ideal because you still die a ton, but its literally the only way its possible.

this game more than ever is based around instant deaths. one shots. etc.
so our normal environment is catching up to the extreme delve example. not quickly, but its getting worse.

the myth that any evade/dodge character will always get one shot every time they get hit in normal gameplay is still being perpetuated, somehow. but the hilarious thing is how people who are against evasion as a defense don't talk about how their armor/VMS/mitigation/hp-pool-stacking can still get their ass one shot - and typically they've invested WAY more into it


either way nobody is going to be convinced one way or another. there isn't an objective answer one way or another
but you should never be unwilling to try it out. test out different characters and defenses and play to how you like to play.

i can't stand getting hit every time something swings at me. i've tried dozens of times and i just can't stand it
