Is this diablo 3 all over again?
" It's quite clear from the replies and his in-game achievements that he is only capable at playing at a low skill level. Nothing wrong with that, most gamers don't play seriously and neither should their comments be taken seriously. I agree with your post on the difference in combat between D3 and POE. The combat in D3 is deeper and more fluid than POE. In D3 you need to herd the mobs before going for the DPS burst via cooldown utilisation. The timer is strict here and is often centered around the 4 sec convention of elements window. Knowing when to engage and disengage is a critical part of D3 combat. When I first played POE in 2017, I found the skill tree and items incredibly interesting and complex. The combat however was 1 dimensional based on a 1 button spam. I see however there has been increasing attempts of incorporating cooldown mechanics similar to D3 with focus and guard skills being examples. I view this development as positive from a combat perspective. Last edited by DAKKONx#3689 on Sep 20, 2019, 11:47:48 PM

" No, this whole genre is far from being skill based. You think your reflexes are so much better than mine? Open Arena me. I'll be playing laying down on a bed with a shit connection, and a wonky ass mapping because half my keys are broken. And I'll still completely obliterate you. Need a new signature, cuz name change. I dunno though. I guess this seems fine. Yeah, this is good.

" Maybe kill Shaper first. The Sirus fight is a disgrace.

" You say that like it means something. I could just make a necro and have them do it for me with no effort. I refuse to ever play a game on easy mode. Need a new signature, cuz name change. I dunno though. I guess this seems fine. Yeah, this is good.

" That's amusing, considering you run your mouth all over the forum as if you already accomplished everything. Typical white knight behavior. |

" You should really put that ego in check. A lot of the skill is in understanding the complexities of mechanic interaction along with gearing efficiently and understanding the market. Reflexes don't start coming into play till pushing the limits of end game because most of the time you can build or outgear most of that "difficulty" away. "Open Arena" is meaningless here given the complete lack of interest in pvp, largely because of the mechanics. You can build something to kill folks before they even see you, but now that there are no daily master missions requiring pvp there simply aren't enough people interested for there to be meaningful pvp development. Shaper isn't terribly difficult, he just sets the baseline for end game more than anything. Grandmaster is harder to beat if anything given how restrictive it can be. In the end, if you want to trash talk these folks, you need to actually complete it to have any credibility. The typical low/mid tier mapping experience is not quite the same as the actual end game. Yep, totally over league play.

At this point Diablo 3 is actually better... at least they don't have gamebreaking bugs galore every new season.

Well with everyone saying pushing grifts is harder I don't think that's the case. And don't just dismiss Open Arena as proof of who's reflexes are better. Quake is literally nothing but reflexes. I think all the "endgame" PoE players should put their ego in check, given how it seems pretty apparent they know nothing of gaming outside of ARPGs.

" I didn't realize you meant that Open Arena because I didn't think someone would defend their knowledge and ability in one game by referencing another. At the time I thought you were referring to PoE Pvp ego stroking. I haven't touched quake 3 since what, high school? Plenty of us had moved on by the time Open Arena became a thing. It just seemed unlikely that you would use a completely unrelated game to defend your working PoE knowledge and ability. Then again, it wouldn't be the first time someone on these forums has claimed that their ability in a completely unrelated game and genre makes them a clear expert. Poe has plenty of issues, any true veteran can tell you that. But passing judgement over content you've never experienced just blatantly shows a willingness to exaggerate and fabricate. Everyone progresses through PoE at their own pace. It's not until people start criticizing content they haven't experienced does it start to draw notice. There is plenty to criticize, don't diminish it by being disingenuous. Yep, totally over league play.

LOOOOOOOOOL D3. Kindergarten ARPG that doesn't even have trading.
I have been in top 10 hardcore for UE+knivesDH and dash Monk. D3 has nearly zero customization in crafting or any aspect of hte game. The chant/craft system is like 1/100th in-depth compared to POE. You can farm your full set and nicely rolled offsets easily in a few days. Then all you do is grinding endless XP for paragon points because that's the only thing that will help improve your GR, because +5 primary starts to scale like crazy. No trading, no nothing. Just lol. I don't even know why I humored that. And with GRs--if you've actually been competitive--you know is FULL rng with mob types, mob tiles, when and where you get shrines etc. People just fish over and over, stop, get paragon for primary stat for a week farming the same meta XP on like a necro, then GR push again. GRs are the equivalent of one league mechanic, yet it's the whole emphasis of their game, rofl. Anyway, I am playing casually this season just trying builds etc but I'd love to see your account that's done everything. D3 has the most laziest possible end game possible. ONE tunnel that just gets deeper as you go. No wonder they only have like 8 people maintaining it. PoE you can branch off into being a mogul, end game bosses, or some people just focus on one mechanic like delving - which is the like a GR except better and not forced. PoE flask system is more detailed and complicated than the whole of D3. Last edited by poeGT#1333 on Sep 21, 2019, 5:25:18 PM
