Tired of Auction House Deniers Advocaters
" As far as I know, Shags does not trade. I do trade, but not often. I think I've bought 2-3 items this league. I care about the GAME, playing the GAME and enjoying the GAME. Easier, automated trade WILL drive this game closer to a "trade or go home" kind of game, and that is a game I wouldn't play. It's not about exploiting. It's not about competition. It's not even about trading itself, it's about the repercussions an auction house would have on the GAME. You can call it speculation. You can call GGG's trade manifesto "old" and "BS". You can speculate that an auction house would not affect in-game drop rates at all or other forms of balance. You can speculate that an auction house won't - directly or indirectly - changes the in-game progression of the game. But that's all speculations. And if they'd implement an auction house, there's no turning back. If you're a player unable to progress in the game now, without trading for everything; sure, you'd like an auction house. Why? Because the GAME and acquiring gear would become easier. That's what you're longing for; EASIER trade. EASIER acquisition of gear. EASIER access to currency through trade. And to think that drop rates, balance and in-game progression would remain as is, when everything is easier to acquire? Naive. Let's try something. Someone would call it empathy. Try putting yourself in GGG's shoes and answer the following: Why do YOU think that GGG haven't implemented an AH? They can EASILY do it, even based on premium stash tabs. But why haven't they? Why do YOU think? Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile. Last edited by Phrazz#3529 on Apr 23, 2019, 4:28:06 PM

" Easy. They want you to gaze upon the shiny microtransactions of the other player in a trade. Also if trading was easier, you could easily trade away all that collectible clutter that GGG wants you to fill your stash with. |

" Of course. An auction house would magically make every player suddenly get an urge to buy ALL your crap items. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

" I'm not talking about items so much. More about fossils, resonators, fragments, currency, cards, essences etc. All the little bits and pieces. I mean, even a half of a vinktar map takes up 16 slots in your stash. GGG simply wants hoarding to be a better alternative than trading thus making trading problematic. |

" I know what you wrote after this, but really, how can you defend the current trade system if you don't even use it. If you used it regularly you would understand why people complain about it. " Except that it's already easy, no one has problem buying really good items for really cheap, you go to poe.trade put the parameters you want and in a few minutes, if you have the currency, you can be at 90% max gearpower of your build. It's naive to believe that players that are into the game don't know poe.trade or whatever other trading site that exists. Of course the majority of the players that never got past act 5 don't know it, but i doubt the game is design after those fickle players that hop from game to game. I doubt you can find many people with posts complaining about how they can't buy the items they want, what you have is complains about buying maps, fragments, essences ,fossils, exchanging currencies etc. Last edited by Mortyx#1049 on Apr 23, 2019, 4:53:19 PM

" The principle still applies, there's nothing forcing you to hold onto anything other than the misguided notion that your vendor trash isn't vendor trash. |

some answers:
you can't ban virtual hardware in VMs. game masters do care for their game. bots are a reality, sniper bots are a reality but pretty useless now with player interaction slowing mass trades down. the game has a huge problem: lacking demand for the items it drops. if ggg makes trading easier (and searching items more difficult) we're back to closed beta rare item drop rates. hint: you won't need a loot filter for the few rares that drop. maybe it's a good idea after all... age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

" Nope. I don't. It's basic economics. And comparing this to "other games" is facetious. PoE would become "another game" and it would be a game I wouldn't enjoy playing. |

" This is referred to as "moving the goal posts". Fine technique. |

" I've answered this several times, even in the post you quoted. Easier and automated trade would FORCE you to trade for more and more items, turning the game into a "trade or go home" game. I wouldn't play that game. I like playing PoE. You could say "No it wouldn't". You don't know. I don't know. But I suspect. And IF they'd implemented a system like that, it's no turning back. I don't use the current system MUCH because I don't HAVE to. I'd like to keep it that way. It's a nice balance. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
