If they implemented a regular old AH the amount of time you'd have to spend in the game to "finish" your character would be cut in 2, possibly cut in 4-5.

For a bad league like Synthesis where the league died a month in, the game would die in 2 weeks, possibly a week. The game would die.

well my point is/was that you dont want an AH, you want an insta-buyout thingie.

my solution is that everything's fine, trading is another level of the game and should take time if you wanna mess with it.. i usually don't.

It dose not matter about your opinion on there being an AH or mine or anyone elses.

GGG have stated multiple times over multiple years that there sin't going to be one and it dose not matter how popular the idea is.

It's their game and they decided against one in any form, end of story.

Going on and on about it isn't going to change their mind, that should be obvious what with them saying no for 8+ years

The options you have are, deal with it or quit the game.

Trading is a big part of the game actually. GGG wants it to be a big part which is clearly visible when even content/prograssion is tradable. You not wanting to mess with it just means that you are a part of a minority tbh.

No way for us to tell what piece of the pie SSF play takes as a community poll would natural favor those who enjoy the company of others. It's a substantial enough slice though to warrant it's own mode of play.

Hmm, yeah true. Oh, except Asian markets. Or PS4. Or deciding to run their own trading search engine. Or Tencent buying controlling shares behind GGG and it actually being their call.

So, aside from those 5 things, you are right. Except, if enough people disagree, GGG would bow, so it does matter.

In fact, when you think about it, they actually ONLY make the game to be played by customers, so customer satisfaction is really all that does matter. Now, could customers be wrong about what would be fun? For sure they sometimes are, but ignoring them totally is idiotic.

except GGG still have control of their server and their game outside those areas and they are still saying no...so deal with it or go.

First, it's because game itself is too boring. D3 failed cause it wasnt good enough, not because it had AH.

Second, if you cut game time by 2 with mere faster trading for small items, it means players ATM are just forced to waste shitloads of time on clunky trade system to get maps and some other stuff. Is it bad to cut off that crap?

You know, you can also suggest loading screens last for 1 min, just to make gameplay "slower". Or make mobs that turn invincible & idle for 30 sec when hit. So player has to wait 30 sec to kill them.
Current trading system is similar too all that bullshit! Lazy solution to "slow down" game instead of balacing it properly.
If that care about game longevity, why they added so much power creep to it, without making content harder? That's why leagues die so quickly - meta builds are too powerful and steamroll everything. Blame bad balance for that, not AH.

Some time ago, they've also stated, that desync is completely natural and cant be fixed. There even were some whiteknights defending GGG on that. Until GGG fixed it and instantly EVERYONE forgot about desync nightmare, that had been plaguing PoE for so long.

Are you sure about that? Because I finish my characters after trading once since trading is sooooo awful that I do it once a league and then never again. Trading being bad is the main reason I upgrade less and quit earlier.

Go trading would encourage me to play more because I could try out more builds and tweak things, but bad trading leads to too much not playing the game to be worth it, and the need to trade to continue pushing content leads to quitting.
