Tired of Auction House Deniers Advocaters

someone said somewhere(maybe even in this thread) that there should only be an in-game shop for maps/fossils/essences and such.. not for currency/items

but even that would introduce all the buyout bots and flipping bots that were hilariuos on D3.. normal player never got anything for the "real" prize.. instead you had to buy your item for x-times the "real" prize from a bot :P

only way to control this is that GGG sets a maximum prize for the items, but even then there is no reason to put anything up for less.

is it ok if all low tier maps costs an Alch, or Chaos?

All essences/fossils at 5c too?

idk, idc

except GGG still have control of their server and their game outside those areas and they are still saying no...so deal with it or go.

You don't seem to grasp what buying a company, property means. GGG has control over exactly what Tencent tells them the have control over, which can change day by day. Thats what purchasing a property and company does. Now, could the employees quit and form a new gaming company, sure, they aren't slaves. But tencent owns PoE fully, they have over 51% of shares, with no special voting block shares held by anyone in GGG, so, they own GGG and PoE. Literally own it.

Does Tencent want to piss off all the designers and micromanage, probably not. So they may let GGG make some decisions. But they let do it, GGG doesn't have any control whatsoever that they aren't allowed to have by Tencent.

Price fixing exists with or without an AH. An ingame AH would prevent this by doing simple things:

You open the AH, a pop up saying that you should review your item prices before listing comes up, and if people still list it for a fixed price, is their problem.

A good way of preventing this is to do something TERA does: Have a "Make Offer" button where you can change the offered price, so you'll prevent bots from insta buying stuff in seconds, because the person selling has to confirm the offer, and we'll still have player interaction. And all this without alt tabbing the game.

Also don't allow people to DND while having items listed, and unlist the item if the player has offers for the set price and doesn't respond.

Right now people have BOOPS for specific items that are price fixed to instantly shark players, and the only way to know for a player that the item is too low for it's original price, is when you recieve 5 whispers in 2 seconds. But some players might think that's awesome and proceed with the trade.

Also having the list of items easily accesible to everyone will make people understand item prices better.

GGG needs to stop forcing people to alt tab their game to make progress.

Some time ago, they've also stated, that desync is completely natural and cant be fixed. There even were some whiteknights defending GGG on that. Until GGG fixed it and instantly EVERYONE forgot about desync nightmare, that had been plaguing PoE for so long.

?????

They didn't fix it. It's impossible to fix for a game like PoE. They improved the networking crap, so if you have low ping it's far, far better. If you're 200ms+ it's still horrible and noticeable.

The thing they added was lockstep. This doesn't make your attacks instant, this makes them wait for the server to recognize it happened. It feels sluggier on high ping, but gets rid of the desync. It's still there. It's not fixable because we don't have instantaneous data transfer. We won't have that until 5000 years from now somebody gives out some kind of sci-fi quantum-whatever internet

Now you contradict yourself.

If you have 200+ ping, then stop using modem or wi-fi and switch to normal provider. Or dont use realm on another side of the globe. If your internet sucks, it's YOUR own fault, dont blame game for it.

With <50 ping & lockstep, PoE works just as fine as any other online game, while before desync fix came to life, it behaved like shit even with great connection! That's the difference!!!

Same with AH. If game fucked its balance, then it's exactly what must be fixed first. Stop blaming trading for that failure.

You're just playing words!
If item is bought and sold for "x-times the "real" prize", then "x-times the "real" prize" is actually the REAL PRICE!!!

If sellers try selling item for too high, players wouldnt buy it, so those items turn into deadweight, and sellers lose profits. And yes, bots are also sellers, and if they're dumb enough to lose profit, they wont last for long.

Bots only occasionaly "snipe" item, that has too cheap price on it. Yes, sometimes you might be lucky to get the one yourself. But that's pure luck! Dont call your lucky shot a "real price". And you're a real fool, if you expect this to happen often!
