Path of Exile doesn't appear to know what it wants to be. Harcore players die and get sent to default. They try to appear to appease both pvp and pve players by slapping timers and names on loot which just made things worse. Chris claims the game was made with single player in mind but yet they force pvp in public games? They need to pick a direction and stick with it.
All feedback should be evaluated individually for its worth. Shutting the door on everything because your afraid of losing some kind of set hardcore elitism isn't the way to go. GGG can't make the game alone which is why we are here.....in this beta.
p.s. this game is easy and has always been easy.
Agreed. HC needs to stop spilling into default. Not only is it insulting to HC players it is also drowning the Default economy in excess gear.
Also agree that they need to choose a direction for loot. FFA or Instanced or party options for the two. The current system of FFA with random names on items is causing more problems than it is addressing IMO.

Actually, some of us are crying for the game to become more complex, because the gameplay is really basic atm (particularly for ranged). Hell, even diablo 3 had more complex combat. The only hardcore thing about PoE is the passives graph.

I'm glad that you enjoy writing emo poetry...
Now please tell me which aspects of POE are heavily skill dependent? Is it the single-minded pursuit of more life nodes? The spammage of an AOE ability with GMP/chain on it in hopelessly underleveled areas so you can build up currency? Is it the ad infinitum clicking of chaos/alteration/jewelers/fusing orbs? What?
Does this game require the great reactions and mouse control of a competitive FPS game? No. Does it require the speed and strategy of a competitive RTS? No. Hell, does it even need the teamwork and tactics of a moba? Nope.
So tell me, how exactly are they dumbing down the game? What makes you more skillful than the masses? Your ability to farm docks for hours on end before you vomit of boredom?
You're right. This game is built on a few key components that allow you to faceroll 100% of the content with 0% try:
1) Roll a Marauder
2) Pick up Resolute Technique, Unwavering Stance, and all of the HP nodes
3) HP nodes
4) More HP Nodes
5) 5L Items with Ground Slam
6) Beat the game
I swear to God if I see another post like this from another scrub, I'm gonna punch a baby.
ROFLMMFAO!! I lol'd when I read this. Yeah well I rolled a mara but she's a witch. I rolled a ranger but she's a witch. I even rolled a witch who uses wands and raises the dead. I'm in the battle with my minions. I just don't sit back and let them have all the fun. HP nodes - what's that??? I NEVER get those - what a waste. I was face-rolling end-game maps on my necro with 600 hps and +1500 es. I tried ground-slam with my witch/mara combo - boring. I just have my sword and go choppy chop chop. Warden went down in under 10 sec. "Pick up Resolute Technique, Unwavering Stance, and all of the HP nodes" - never grabbed those - looked like boring crap lol! I like add more fire/frost dmg. Add more melee power, str, dex int nodes. HP nodes - meh, I have health from my gear, don't need any more than that. Have I died, um twice from getting distracted from kitty meowing - he likes to watch me kill shit.
I think the whole idea of this game was that you were SUPPOSED to make fun and crazy builds and MAKE THEM WORK. Not grab hp nodes :s Although I will admit, I do, albeit under duress, need to take a few ele protection nodes as GGG added this reduction dmg late in CB. But using saphire rings against Merveil - nah, I just can't be bothered to swap in and out shit all the time. I like to do the "hit and run." Run in fire trap or fill the area with poison gas, run out run in and repeat all the while avoiding mobs and bosses - that's fun. Or playing with them. Make bosses run all over the place, the warden actually jumps up and down in frustration when you fuck with him like that - it's funny.

Agreed. The looting system needs an overhaul. Too many ppl are just taking advantage of other ppl's inability to get their fair share. Nothing I can't stand is someone just standing there with his finger up his ass during the fighting and then looting shit as if they "deserve" crap. I suffered enough of that bullshit playing Rift, I DON'T want to see a repeat of that here.

This. I can't enjoy playing ranged or casting, I've tried. I always end up trying to make some pseudo-melee build that just ends up being boring to play and aesthetically and functionally feels wrong. Unfortunately since the start of OB, melee has joined ranged and casting for me, I simply find the interactions and dynamics of general gameplay really shallow now. I hope it gets better.

I kinda agree with this, especially regarding the solo play currently being a complete joke (in regards to loot difference and difficulty)

personally i see the loot game as a challenge when i enter public games. Most of the time i play solo or with friends, but sometimes i play public and i expect it to be a lootfest packed with lootlusters.
I dont really join to get boosted i mostly join to engage in some loot pvp. Sometimes i join to get boosted, or at least i did in d2, but i dont get rage if i dont get loot then, i know i will be safe range and not ideally positioned for the loot.

Gril, I've been around so long and played so many games that noticing trends has become 2nd nature. Rift, for example, used to be a great game, in the beginning. Then they started to nerf shit, starting in patch 1.7 and I told them the game is going to go downhill from here. Nobody listened or believed me. Ember Isle (EI) patch - I saw what was going on with that. I told them the game is going downhill in a handbasket - anyone listen - no. Well guess what folks? Storm Legion (SL) came out and it's a direct replicate of the mechanics of EI and people are only now complaining of the horrible grind, the exaggerated inflation of prices, the dumbing down of the game, did I mention the horrible grind? Now, instead of that game being a challenge and great fun where you feel great from achievements, it's walking down the same path as WoW. Sigh... oh well, I DID warn them early on.
Feedback is great as long as I don't go into a Chinese restaurant and tell them I think they need to serve Italian.
There is people in every game asking for an easier time, that is nothing special for the games that actually got easier. The important thing is just to determine what is a valid suggestion and what is just someone crying over not succeeding in a game and the OP have imo failed at this and throws even stuff like floating numbers into the list of things making the game casual. I personally don't really care about floating numbers (probably wouldn't use them if I had the option) but if someone wants the possibility I am all for letting them have it.
