As someone who player d2 pretty hardcore, D3 (regrettably) pretty hardcore, And has gotten busy and forced to play poe casual, i couldnt agree more. With my limited play time I feel way behind the 8 ball, struggling to get loot to survive maps, struggling to have enough currency to feel not broke, And am generally progressing painfully slow with alot of frustrating hc deaths etc.... And I fckin love it. If it takes me 6 months to get my first 5 link to aculy be able to play my build properly than ill be all the more stoked when I get it.
Ppl need to realize that games get less fun once you acomplish the end game goals, And the best games are the ones that beat you down to the point of nearly quitin and force you to get a bit lucky or be very industrious to get there. Being elite at a game is only fun if you are actually elite, if you cant enjoy grinding a tough somewhat unfair game till you break through then just go be "elite". In d3 with everyone else and lap a3 all day.

The forums are a small percentage of the population. That said I, as a self proclaimed casual player, already find POE to be very accessible to my gaming habits.

The game was never pushed towards casuals, ever. Ever, ever, ever.

Casuals are PUNISHED for simply looking at the game. They will not cater to them and they never have, don't worry.

I agree in that I do not want the game to be made easier just for the sake of pleasing the masses that aren't used to an actual challenge in games anymore. Before you know it the whole game becomes a cakewalk and utter borefest. So far I'm happy though, I'm optimistic GGG will stay true to what they've done so far.

And just for the record, I solo.
I actually think parties need to be nerfed a tiny bit as they provide too much survivability in only having the monsters' HP scale. Mobs should probably be a bit scarier for big parties here and there to balance parties and soloing.
