GGG do not give in to the crying masses
" I have to agree with the crackmonster here lol. Why oh why do we need to know what kind of dmg we do in an ARPG???? You go and kill monsters. I don't give a flying fuck to see little numbers pop up on my screeen - I have another screen for that that shows my toon and the dps it does with all the gear equipped and all that good stuff. You hit monster, it dies, move on next - wash, rinse & repeat. The Pope quit, a meteor fell on Russia, an
asteroid came close to the earth, there's snow in Arizona, star wars and star trek have the same director! Who the hell is playing jumanji? | |
so damage numbers and optional other lootrules would hurt the gameplay in what way exactly?
in none. other then giving a few more people what they prefer it wouldnt change shit. so yeah, totally pointless post. ign: Lucador / Zashah

" People are already here, trying to bring everyone to the level where you might as well just concede and surrender all the strong points of the game and succumb to badness. You are just trying to bring another game to the level of nabcakes who want a different game than those who love this type of game where you have to fight for your right and if you fail you are denied. The "crying masses" are, in some cases, either possible future customers, or not possible future customers. The best business strategy for any company is to be inclusive as they can possibly be, which is why you see blizzard doing things like appealing the the 90%. However, it can be as much as an error to appeal to the 90% as the 10%.
One possible choice is to have a "casuals" league. This is something GGG said they would never do, but perhaps they should reconsider. It's not like the casuals are going to play a hardcore game for long, and to have a game that has something for everyone is a bit better than having a game that only has something for the precious few. This also has the advantage of moving the nerf requests out of the medium core came and over to the softcore game. If someone started medium core, and didn't like it, you could even let them intentionally default to softcore. (current default == mediumcore) Moreover, why should the hardcore types care? The gamers that insist on difficulty being nerfed to the degree that the hardcore types don't like at all aren't ever going to connect on desires, likes, or expectations. Just separate them. Everyone's happy. -------------------- Like the latest fashion Like a spreading disease The kids are strappin' on their way to the classroom Getting weapons with the greatest of ease The gangs stake their own campus locale And if they catch you slippin' then it's all over pal If one guys colors and the others don't mix They're gonna bash it up, bash it up, bash it up, bash it up... Hey - man you talkin' back to me? Take him out You gotta keep 'em separated Hey - man you disrespecting me? Take him out You gotta keep 'em separated Last edited by Courageous#0687 on Mar 11, 2013, 2:50:24 PM

" Yeah... damn those nabcakes.... ? Anyway, love this game, though I think more options would be good. I think the party loot system is a joke, and would be better served without collision mechanics. More than anything, I think this game needs a /players X command. Until then, I play with myself in parties, and avoid the BS. No. Calm down. Learn to enjoy losing.

" Dude: 1) Thanks for sharing - I think but the forum's NOT really the place to be telling us that 2) You should check your local jurisdiction as this kind of activity is usually frowned upon in public... The Pope quit, a meteor fell on Russia, an

" The question really is: do you want to create a game that reaches out to as many as possible, at the expense of the quality that comes from focusing on creating a game for a certain group of people - or do you want to go for max profits. The profits path will have you more money in the short run, but requires you to create something new when this just gets too boring after some years. If you create something for a specific group of people you can pour your heart into one project that lasts for years and years. You won't get as much money probably, but you will gain the respect and love of that group. In the end, all seeks social status, and making a sellout game will not get you it. " exactly bro! +1 to the OP!
We waited a long time for a game like this :) |

Have to agree.
Most important thing to make game harder: Disable Party Play. Any 3+ Party is just faceroll. |
